This baby boy is so sweet, his hair is so real looking and he is just the right size to hold like a new baby.

What a precious little boy! He smells like baby powder, and was immaculately packaged. His hands, though a bit gnarled, are realistic and easy to get used to. His hair is visibly glued, but at this price you can't ask for much more. He weighs almost like a real baby. I'd highly recommend this product as an alternative to a more expensive (perhaps reborn) doll.

This doll is so cute! He fits in preemie or newborn clothing. The newborn clothing is loose but looks fine. He has a cloth body but full vinal arms and legs. He has reddish brown hair. It is glued but looks great. He is weighted but not as heavy as a real baby. I bought him for my daughter for Christmas. She's 5 but is very easy with her toys. If she wants his clothes changed she brings him to me. You have to be easy with his arms and legs so stitching doesn't come undone. He's very bendable and cuddly. He fools everyone into thinking he's real! I'm adding a picture of him in a stroller. We made the pacifier shown. I would recommend him to anyone looking to buy a lifelike baby boy.

Jacob meets expectations for an Ashton drake doll. I collect dolls of all ages, and I like him a lot. However a lot of people seem to be misled that this is a reborn doll. He is not. He id a mass produced realistic baby doll. People are also misled by the term "hand applied" hair. "Hand applied" means glued. It does NOT mean rooted.

Because baby hair is naturally sparse, a few unwanted things can happen when the hair is glued, aka "hand applied":

A. The glued hair will be sparse enough to look natural on a baby, but the glue will show and look awful; or:

B. The glued hair will be glued on too thick so it hides the glue, but it looks unnatural on a newborn; or:

C. The hair will be clumpy, come out easily, and go in directions that make it look more like a messy hat than hair.

Actual reborn dolls as opposed to the mass produced Ashton Drake spin-offs, have ROOTED hair, not "hand applied". Look for that term "rooted" if you want rooted hair, otherwise you will get glued hair. Preferably, it should be *directionally* rooted, meaning it will look like it is growing the way natural baby hair grows. This will add to the price, but this has been a major source of disappointment to a lot of buyers, so I wanted to clear that up. Again, Ashton Drake sells realistic dolls, but they are NOT reborns. If you want a reborn, better to save up and get the right one for you from a good artist. A good reborn doll can cost upward of 600 dollars, though, which is exactly why I got baby Jacob instead.
