When I heard that Nina Gerber had released two albums ("SWEET DREAMS" and "NOT BEFORE NOON"), I couldn't wait to get my hands on them. Just mention her name to anyone who's heard her live and they can't stop talking about the incredible soulfulness of her playing. It's there live and it's here on these albums. When I play "SWEET DREAMS", the whole atmosphere of the room is transformed. It's one of those albums that everyone loves and wants to keep hearing over and over - IT NEVER GETS OLD. This is definitely not just for children but I can't imagine a better choice of music to play for children! Nina's own two compositions are outstanding. Her choice of material is perfect, each song flowing into the other, maintaining the mood throughout, but with a diversity of feeling that keeps it musically and emotionally compelling. Included is a song by the very talented Barbara Higbie entitled "Heart of Beauty" that Nina plays so beautifully it's hard to describe - you just have to hear this album for yourself!

This is a solo acoustic guitar album. Nina Gerber's style of guitar playing is warm and sweet and elegant. She is a very accomplished musician and this album especially conveys a sence of warmth and positive expression. This is an everybody album and not limited to only children. I have listened to this album more times than I can count and I still love it. When I play it for friends they love it also.

The only thing I can say negative about Nina is I wish she had more cd's available! As far as i know, there are only 3. This is incredibly relaxing, but not new age pap. Nina is a world class guitarist. Also includes a cool cover of James Taylor's best song, You Can Close Your Eyes.

It's a BIT like early Alex DeGrassi. Absolutely gorgeous.

I discovered this album when working in a childcare center, and I love it! Put it in, and the room instantly seems calmer, quieter. The music is beautiful and perfect for putting little ones to sleep, as well as helping the adults unwind. I have never enjoyed a "lullaby" cd, but this is perfect. So soothing, so lovely, perfect.

I had the pleasure of seeing Nina, Kenny Edwards & Karla Bonoff play live recently just outside of Boston. Nina is a guitar phenom whose live performance left chills in my spine. I highly reccomend her CD's, as well as Bryndle (a group founded in the '60's by Wendy Waldman, Kenny Edwards & Karla Bonoff), Karla Bonoff (solo) & Kenny Edwards (solo). You will NOT be dissapointed when you hear any of these selections by any of these artists!
