Great animation,

My grandaughters has love this movie since she was 2 years old. Now that she is 4 she likes to pull it out for her 2 year old sister. They love the music so much we bought the sound track. Great songs.
The story is sweet and the animation is wonderful. I wish all the shortcake movies were made with the same animation.

This is the soundtrack for "Strawberry Shortcake: The Sweet Dreams Movie," the recent CGI movie in which Strawberry Shortcake and her friends travel on a magical adventure to the Land of Dreams.
"The Sweet Dreams Movie" soundtrack is a short, but berry sweet twenty minutes of fun. There are two tracks that have already been heard before on other albums --- "You're My Berry Best Friend" and the instrumental version of the show's main title theme. Both are good, so I don't mind their inclusion on this CD. The original music is all wonderful. My favorite track on the album is the very first one --- "How a Garden Grows." It introduces listeners into the world of the show and then provides a cheerful, fast-paced and fun theme about how to grow a garden. "To share is more than just to share / It turns what's bare into a paradise." This tune is followed by "Sweet Dreams," a gentle and comforting tune performed by Strawberry. Next is "All it Takes," a wonderful riff on the tune "Do Your Ears Hang Low?" "The Land of Dreams" features the new character P.J. welcoming the kids to her land and then they consider whether or not dreams are worthwhile in "Sweet Dreams." Some fans of the series have been turned off by the reintroduction of the villain Purple Pieman into the series, but he puts in a decent performance in "A Little Dream of Yours," in which he schemes to take everyone's dreams and make them "his, not yours." Next is a reprise of "Silly Dreamer/Sweet Dreams" and finally the pleasant "Tell Me a Story." Fans of the new version of "Strawberry Shortcake" will find more fun and entertainment in this CD. Though it's short, it's worth many listens. |
