Patsy Cline Is The #1 Greatest Female Vocalist Of All Time!,
By "whitneyfan" (Kansas City, KS) - See all my reviews

I truly love this cd! The new background instrumentation added to update certain tracks are just the greatest. San Antonio Rose, Seven Lonely Days, Blue Moon Of Kentucky, and Foolin' 'Round truly shine on this CD. The CD also contains the essentials: I Fall To Pieces, Sweet Dreams, Walkin' After Midnight (in a new jazzy-type horn arrangement), She's Got You, and Crazy. This CD is extremely essential and a must-have for anyone who enjoys listening to female singers. Your Cheatin' Heart and Half As Much also feature new arrangements, and the fresh new sound these songs are given is what makes the soundtrack CD unique and very essential to own. If you only buy two of her CD's (I own dozens, including her 4 CD box set), I recommend this one and 12 Greatest Hits, which also includes Leavin' On Your Mind and Faded Love. I love this CD and play it all the time! I could never say enough about how I think Patsy Cline is the greatest female vocalist I have ever heard. She is definitely the undisputed voice of the century. No other singer, no matter how good, could ever duplicate her songs. It's been said many times that other singers can sing the words, but only Patsy Cline can sing the songs. She's simply the best female singer of all time. And easily one of the most influental singers in the history of any genre of music. Patsy Cline is and always will be the best!!!

Incredible Recording,

I have been searching for years for a Patsy Cline recording with this music on it. I'm not a country-western fan in particular, but this is so enjoyable you can't not like it. We play this one over and over again and sing along with Patsy. Great traveling music! There isn't a bad song on it.

I remember when this came out in the mid-eighties. What a furor it caused amongst certain country music affectionados. And, for good cause. Was it really Patsy or was it Beverly D'Angelo? Were these the arrangements that Owen wanted back in the 1960's that an ego-maniacal
Patsy trounced upon like a bug in the dirt? Let's face it some of those 60's recordings were flat as a pancake. Some like it flat/Some like it hot. who knows? to each his Owen. The movie is a light hearted romp through Nashville until Owen is portrayed as going all wife beater on her. Then, Patsy gets on that fatal plane in Kansas City that crashed near Camden,Tn killing a whole stable of young rising country stars..Cowboy Copas being one(note Owen was not on board). This cd maybe one of the best examples of the battle of the sexes behind the scenes stories ever. Anyway it's the best country cd I Owen. What a line up of songwriters..Don Gibson,Willie Nelson,Hank Williams,Bill Monroe, Bob Wills, Buck Owens...and the musicianship, excellent! Bob Moore, Floyd Crammer, Owen and his brother. Backing vocals by the Jordanaires, absolutely fabulous. The major top 40 hits and the most different version of Your Cheatin' Heart to date are here. Patsy's voice is more sterling than ever....Or is it Bev's? You decide. Sure to get you going.

these songs sound terrific remixed! Who better to do the remixing then Owen Bradley, who produced the original tracks. There are those who bemoan that the songs have been remixed, but the original versions are available in pristine form elsewhere. These are slight variations on the originals, and the result is a freshening up of the terrific performances. If you love Patsy Cline's music, you'll love this disc!

though this is an old record, but it is still worth listening, esp the title " Crazy" now seems become popular again.

Why change the background?,
By
This review is from: Sweet Dreams: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
The soundtrack is great, because of Patsy's voice. I don't understand why they had to change the background for the movie- All they had to do was use the original 4-Star material that Patsy recorded. Maybe they weren't able to do so, due to copywrights and such. Whatever the case, even if I like the original backgrounds better, they are an interesting change. My favorite track is "San Antiono Rose." It's always been one of my favorite Patsy songs and it sounds great with an alternate background. I recommend this album to add to your Patsy collection if you are a fan!!
