Plaisir d'amour ne dure qu'un moment...,
By Student of Twain (Ghana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sweet Eros and Witness. (Paperback)
Chagrin d'amour ne dure toute la vie.
My first exposure to this show was as a freshman in college and will never forget it. I performed the part of "Girl", and needless to say, it was quite the experience (although it was a somewhat censored performance, much to the relief of my floormates). This is an amazing show testing the boundaries of comfort in the familiar and providing a glimpse of a reality that is beyond the norm. Although many people are offended by the graffic nudity (or semi-nudity) and blunt language, there is a real quality to the characters that speaks to the audience. Please do not take this as another "theatre person" review as I am not. Read--or see--the show for yourself and make your own opinion. |
