Gwen does it again!, April 13, 2007
This review is from: Sweet Escape (Audio CD)
This is a GREAT song. Gwen is back in the groove is all I can say with The Sweet Escape, it's catchy and I am driving all my friends mad by playing it over and over again! Gwen has an amazing voice, she can do so much with it, from rap, to ballads, to pop to rock, you name it this girl can belt it out with the best of them. Long may she continue!

Definitely Sweet, March 30, 2007
This review is from: Sweet Escape (Audio CD)
Although there are very few songs and artists that have really made great strides this past year, there actually have been surprising ones that really have been very interesting. In the case of Gwen Stefani and Akon, they definitely know how to make a good collaboration. The Sweet Escape, the title track from Gwen's sophmore album is very catchy and upbeat. I like the song because it really is one of the better songs released so far this year. The song doesn't seem to lose its luster, unlike other ones that are just manufactured. I really hope that Gwen & Akon do another great song like this one soon. Song: B

A Sweet Nostalgic Escape, February 4, 2008
This review is from: Sweet Escape (Audio CD)
Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape" (a collaboration with Senegalese rapper Akron) is a bubbly tribute to '50s music. It sounds like a song that would flow from a jukebox, with waitresses on roller skates and malteds served up. "Sweet Escape" has some inane lyrics about spoiled milk, but it's not worth crying over. It's a fun song. The second song,"Hollaback Girl",is an awful cheerleader anthem with useless cussing. It's worth skipping. This album is half-good. Menza menza.
