Pimp C is indeed a legend in the south and after his incarceration a couple years back you just knew that a real solo album was on the way. Pimp C, one half of legendary duo UGK, drops his first solo album The Sweet James Jones Stories. He delivers on all aspects on this album. His lyrics are as playalistic and vulgar as they've ever been as he spits that game on women, cars, hustlin, mackin, bustin heads...all that pimp shhiiit. Even though these are not new verses they sound like it ( If you have the Live From Harris County Jail cd then you will recognize some of the lyrics.) The new beats are outstanding. Songs such as Hogg In The Game, Comin Up (Lil Flip drops a hot verse amazingly), Isa Playa, I Gotta Thang, I Know U Strapped, Everytime, and Slow Down are amazing songs that can only be brought to you by Pimp C. Indeed the whole album is bangin but there are two songs that I skip sometimes and they are Young Prostitute and 10 A Key. But the album definitely has lots of replay value and your hour will be well spent. Before you know it...you're playin the cd on repeat...never leaving the changer ( it hasn't been out of mine since it was released). Nonetheless, you should go out and buy the album and support Pimp C, a legend in the south. A Must have. 5 Stars. ****Bun B - Trill in stores soon!!!****

This Cd is da $hit when I got this one I played it straight for a month. Thats hard to do wit all da muzik I got. This one is pimped out wit a lot of layed back gangsta beats and some hype ones. He also does a song wit a chorus from a Project Pat song. Devin da dude is on it to. This man needs to get out of jail so he and Bun b can keep bringin dis gangtsa music. U wont be mad if u buy dis U need it.

I was just listening to Isa Playa and wondering why the hell is this on here? Dont get me wrong I like Isa Playa but I loved Everywhere We Go which has the same exact beat and verse Pimp C dropped from Twista's 2000 Adrenline Rush Greatest Hitz album. The chrous is totally different but none the less that hot production is still there. Sweet James Jones Stories is great. I enjoyed most of the songs here. You know Pimp C always bring nothing but heat so I wasnt surprised how hot this shhh was. I wish people could understand that there is some dope azz rappers outside the Billboard Charts.

I've been knockin' this one for about 3 weeks straight. The beats on here are so cold it doesn't even matter that most ofthe rhymes on here are recycled. Till Common or Kanye's new joints drop this is as good as it gets in 05. Free Pimp C!!!!

One half of one of the best rap groups from the south (in the top 3 if you ask me) delivers a solid solo debut after being in the rap game for 13 years, and in jail the past 3 or so. It has 14 tracks and 15 songs (#2 is 2 different songs) and guests are on 6 of the songs so you get a lot of Pimp C. I did expect a better album since it was the first new UGK related material I heard in almost 4 years and its on one of my favorite labels, Rap-A-Lot, but it still is a good album. Prodcution is by 8 different people and Pimp C did no songs as he was in jail. Mike Dean did 4, Mr. Lee did 3, DJ DMD and Dani Kartel did 2 each, and N.O. Joe, John B... and Wendell Springer all did 1. It has 1 Classic, 1 near classics, 2 I skip, 4 ok songs, and the other 7 are good. A good album to have for UGK and southern rap fans.

FREE THE PIMP AKA TRILL N****

This is a collection of Pimp C's unreleased freestyles that he spit like 4 years ago or more. They remixed this cd with new beats. With that said, this is the best cd that came out in 2005 so far. If you listen to this cd you'll see why Pimp C is a "Hogg in the Game" or a "Young Ghetto Star." This is grown man rap. He's puttin' scrubs in their place even from behind bars. I like all the tracks with the exception of one (Young Prostitute). I think Bun B and Lil J could have put a couple more unreleased tracks on here like "Top Notch Pros" (just substitute the pros part), and "I Wanna Be Free." The only bad thing I got to say about this cd is that it sounds more like a compilation simply because these are only unreleased tracks, but that's a minor flaw. This is the cd I've been waiting for for four years. Everybody else in the game other than Devin the Dude, Z-Ro, and Common are garbage.

If you are a regular ugk fan then you will be pleased with this latest release!

True UGK fans will appreciate this CD. All these songs were recorded before Pimp got locked up and most have been remastered with new beats. All these songs are good but Pimp stands out on "Hogg in da Game", "I's a Playa", "Slow Down" and "Everytime". If you've heard the Sweet Jones - Harris County Jail mixtape then you know what to expect. Overall this is a great CD and will hold fans over until Pimp C gets out on parole later this year. **FREE PIMP C**
