I have always loved more secular reggae music, the rythym always reminded me of the body's pulse beat and moreover the life force of the people who the songs were made for. Whether to dance, sing, laugh or love to. Previous to finding Avion Blackman's music I never liked gospel music because it was boring, or on the other hand trying to copy secular acts never having its own distinctive identity. To me reggae has always had it roots in spirituality, that is why I was orginally attracted to it. This sound has allowed me to embrace my love for reggae sounds and my love for Christ at the same time. What a blessing!!!! I hope reggae gospel is here to stay. I would review the cd but it is from start to finish wonderful. You can play from start to finish and not be disappointed in one song. Not the least bit gimmicy, sincere and honest at all times. I highly recommend this for anyone who loves good music period.
