The Best of Two Phyllis Hyman Albums on One CD, December 22, 2008

I purchased this CD to add to my Phyllis Hyman library (I still need about two or three songs that she recorded). With that being said, I now have some new music to listen to from this truly gifted singer, who was always under-rated (thanks in part to Clive Davis, who didn't know how to market her talents). To this day, I have yet to discover an artist that can relay an emotion or phrase a lyric as she did. Think of ...I Don't Want To Lose You...or Here's That Rainy Day...Here are a few of my favorites from this CD.
1. Sing A Song - LOVING THIS TUNE, I had never heard it prior to this CD. Splendid.
2. The Night Bird Gets The Love - (I know that's right, gotta get me some). Another wonderful song.
3. Beautiful Man Of Mine - Nice upbeat song, an ode to her then husband Larry Alexander
4. Betcha By Golly Wow - The first couple of notes will give you goose bumps, let alone the delivery (UNMATCHED, better than the Stylistics version, in my opinion)
5. I Don't Want To Lose You - CLASSIC - For some reason, this takes me back to June 30, 1995 when I heard of her death. Takes me there every time, I can remember that night as if it were yesterday.
6. The Answer Is You - CLASSIC
7. No One Could Love You More - Another Classic (Quite Storm at its best)
8. Soon Come Again - Nice upbeat tune with catchy lyrics
9. Living Inside Your Love - Here's another funky danceable tune.
Overall this CD is superb, for those true PH fans, you will not be disappointed.
