Editorial Reviews

Sweet Plastic is the debut full-length from San Francisco indie rockers, The Wildlife. Ten tracks that push musical boundaries and please your senses. This is a band that moves effortlessly through musical genres creating a sound that is entirely new comprised of a little of everything you love. Produced and mixed by Alex Newport (past projects include The Mars Volta, Polysics, Erase Errata, System of a Down). "Dance rock has been taken to the headlines with acts like The Killers but I dare say The Wildlife make it challenging and more poignant” - Smother Magazine "There just really isn't one way to peg The Wildlife's sound. They've got a little bit of those disco punk beats that the kids love these days, but then they sneak in some psychedelic soul that throws you for a loop." - Oakland Tribune

4.0 out of 5 stars Eclectic, mellow garage rock January 22, 2006
Format:Audio CD
We're all getting tired of carbon copy garage rock and dance punk. Fortunately, The Wildlife add a new twist: lofi techno, 70s r&b and light funk. The result is a mellower, but thankfully different, garage rock. I give it 3 stars in regards to my enjoyment of the album, of which I'm just lukewarm, but they get an extra star for bringing something new to the mix.
