After eating foods made with Barry's Farm sweet potato flour, I began to have some GI problems. I called Barry Foods to find out the details of this product - who they get it from, where it's grown, whether it's cooked or raw, if it's processed in any way, etc. They flatly refused to tell me anything about this product. According to my online research, the manufacture of sweet potato flour is a cottage industry in Africa and China, grown at home and dried in huts. I'm not touching this stuff ever again! The possibilities for contamination are endless, and I suggest you do not order this product. There needs to be transparency around food safety, and a company that will not disclose basic information about a product is not to be trusted.

Great sweet potato flour! I would buy again from this farm. They did a great job. I would recommend buying two or three bags if you plan on using a lot. I bought this and the blue cornmeal flour which was fantastic.

FYI - To avoid higher shipping - buy larger quantities or a variety of flours. I made that mistake and was surprised at the charge due to the flour weight. You can trust this vender. They do take a little over a week to get their product to you but it's worth it.

I bought this and other products from Barry farms. One bag was mislabeled (labeled as fructose but contained some type of flour) notified the company. The said I was lying and refused to replace the product. Buy at your own risk! They do not guarantee the product is what the label says!

I have purchased from Barry Farms over 25# of their White Sweet Potato Flour. (Remember, this is ground white sweet potatoes, so the carbs will be there like in regular sweet potatoes). I use this to make dog treats for my pets with food allergies (mainly to wheat). It is a wonderful carbohydrate source for kibble & dog food. I haven't used it for people stuff, as we have no wheat allergies. Consistency when I use it is similar to a starchy type of flour when mixed with moisture. Creates great pet cookies for my recipes, and my pets just crave them for the taste. Service from Barry Farms was excellent, and I buy in bulk because I know the shipping (which is not their fault) is what it is now a days. I highly recommend it as an alternative to "regular" flour. It is fun to experiment and try new things with any of the Barry Farms flours. I've used the Sweet Pea Flour as well with this, good combo.

This gluten free sweet potato flour is very good when used for baking. The product turns out light and fluffy. You only need to mix in a little with other flours.

this is not a Gluten free product as I expected.
I ate a little bit two times and it kicked my Gluten allergy.
Else I recommend it for regular diet

its not if its lower in carbs, its that its "complex" carbs.

you have simple carbs "white floor, white rice, etc,

and complex carbs, which is sweet potato "good", simple carbs, reg white potato " bad"

THEN, you have portion control, and that goes with everything you eat.

We were searching for something lower in carbs than wheat flour. Sweet potato flour is not, unfortunately. Now I don't really know what to do with it!
