This is one of those rare books that when you set it down having finished it, you start back at the front page and immediatly read it again. I have a friend that did than upon first seeing the movie Casablanca and this was the same feeling.

This is excellent well thought out world creation in the realm of science fiction and an engaging romance with totally wonderful characters. Only nit pick is that investing in the stock of one company as a safe short term investment is really stupid, especially when done by someone presented as a world class expert (Cidra's father), but that's only a quibble from a financial person. Buy, read, repeat. This is a keeper for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars very good!, September 18, 2010
This book is funny and exciting. I loved it, but then I am a sucker for sci-fi and romance books...having them combined makes the book even better! Jayne Ann Krentz is a totally awesome writer!

4.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite authors!, October 4, 2010
I enjoy Jayne Ann Krentz, whether she is writing as Amanda Quick or Jayne Castle. Sweet Starfire was another great book from her.

I found this very interesting and very different from some of the books I have read. I read different style books and enjoy all of them. I have read for years and still intend to continue to read.

Side by side on a dangerous quest, they would soar from the shimmering towers of Cidra's home city, to the rough-and-rowdy mining towns of the galaxy's outback, to the lush, deadly jungles of the planet Renaissance. It was their fate to battle both human and alien danger and each other. For Severance would awaken Cidra's untamed and passionate Wolf heritage and the stirrings of a dark, hot desire she had never known before...

5.0 out of 5 stars Jayne Ann Krentz's BEST -Sweet Starfire-, October 2, 1998
By A Customer
Cindra & Teague are such fun to read about. I never liked to read about space travel, until I read this book. Janye Ann Krentz, changed my mind about futureristic novels. Get your hands on this book and read it. You will have a really good time. I just love how Teague likes to go to restarants with Cindra...

Cindra and Teague are brave and sweet all rolled into one. I loved them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite, January 13, 2011

I love Jayne Ann Krentz, in all her forms -- Amanda Quick, Jayne Castle. So I was excited to see older books of hers that I had not read. It wasn't a bad story, but it's clear that she was honing her craft and really came into her own when she finally fleshed out Harmony and the Arcane Society. I won't be keeping this one.
