Book Description

*Sweet Surrendering will be 99 cents for an introductory period and then it will go back to its regular price of 3.99*

"A red hot office romance that will leave you panting! And possibly pantless...I wanted to be besties with Rory. I wanted to lick Lucah. And I wanted to buy post-it notes in bulk and stash them in my nightstand. ;)
All I can say is...THE POST-IT NOTE SCENE! *swoon*"
-Chelsea Fine, author of Best Kind of Broken

She’s his boss. He doesn’t care. This office isn’t big enough for the two of them…

When Rory Clarke ends up hiring the guy she spent one steamy night with to be her administrative assistant, she's determined to keep things professional.
Lucas Blaine has other plans for her. He wants Rory, and it’s hard to resist his stunning blue eyes, chin dimple and the way he fills out a suit. Everywhere she looks, there he is, giving her a panty-melting smile and pulling her away for the most amazing (and satisfying) sex she’s ever had in her life.
What starts off as one sexual encounter turns into multiple trysts in and out of the office and the lines she’d tried to draw so carefully are blurring. But the closer they get, the more Rory realizes that there are things about Lucas she doesn’t know, things he’s hiding from her. She’ll have to decide if she can surrender to her feelings or get out while she still can.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Surrendering October 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Sweet Surrendering started off great and I thought I got my hands on a five star book. I was excited about it because in this story, it is the woman that is high up on the corporate ladder and has a relationship with her administrative assistant instead of the other way around like most books. It was a new twist... until it stopped twisting for me.

Character wise, I felt like I didn't get to know them well enough to get attached and really care about what was happening to them. Rory interviews Lucas for her administrative assistant position and then sleeps with him that weekend, hoping that she will never see him again. When she is pushed to hire Lucas, she spends another weekend with him as the last weekend that they could ever have. It became a "we can't do this anymore" to a "this is the last time" back to a "we can't do this anymore." I didn't like the bouncing back and forth. I also couldn't get a good grip on the character Lucas. At times he was super aggressive and in your face "I get whatever I want" kind of a man and then the next chapter he lies down and doesn't fight. Plus his huge secret just made me scratch my head.

I also had a hard time reading the book based on the sentence structure. There were multiple times that I had to reread a paragraph just so I could figure out who was speaking.

3.0 out of 5 stars Forbidden Romance October 17, 2013
By Holly
Format:Kindle Edition
I thought Sweet Surrendering was boring, and I thought the characters were immature and only a few of them actually had personalities. Sloane was the only character I loved, and I expected more out of the two main characters' relationship.

Firstly, I couldn't connect with Rory. On some level, she just annoyed me. I didn't think she had much of a personality. She's a workaholic who's had one serious boyfriend that cheated on her, and she spends her days drinking, hanging out with her girlfriends, and working. She's an only child, and she has a great relationship with her parents (except you don't see much of them). I also thought she acted like she was still in high school when it came to Lucas. Or, excuse me, Lucah. And honestly, their relationship was lacking realness and an emotional quality I've come to expect in book couples. It's really all about the sex, and even the sex scenes were generic and mundane. Sometimes it was steamy, and other times I just wanted to skim the scenes. And their relationship was all sunshine and rainbows, even though they shouldn't be in a relationship and Lucah has secrets. It just didn't seem real to me.

Secondly, the secret that Lucah was hiding didn't really fit with the story-line. Or, at least, I didn't like it because it was the reason that made it easy for them to get away with the forbidden office romance. Finding out about it when the story was almost over didn't help in the least. There wasn't much build-up about it, and I thought for sure it would create some tension between the two. But other than being less than a day apart because Rory had to think about everything, it was smoothed over.

Thirdly, the plot was really boring. Forbidden romances are one of my favorite story-lines; however, this didn't seem like it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Would make a good movie October 27, 2013

Suspenseful love story. I didn't see it coming. However I didn't really feel deep passion between main characters, just fun sex. Too cute in many parts. Who wants a man who sticks out his tongue all the time?

Wow, I so enjoyed this book. It had everything you want from a great read - hot sex, an original plotline (I LOVE that the boss is a woman for once) and yes, even sweet romance. It was emotional and fun, like Weak at the Knees and from page one I could not put it down.

It's interesting to see a woman trying to keep her personal and
professional lives separate and the guy who would like to mix
both business and pleasure. . .with her. . .worth a read.

4.0 out of 5 stars light and fun read October 19, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Sweet Surrendering is a well written, fun, light read. Rori is a fresh (and new) heroine, Lucah is a charming hero, and their dialogue/banter creates great chemistry. Rori's circle of friends are also interesting woman in their own right, and you get to enjoy the friendship they share.

Sweet Surrendering is not a book taking on any overly heavy subject matter, and indulges you in a heavy dose of fantasy. The reason why it was a 4 vs 5 star read for me is that the story really dragged to the "reveal." With all the interesting characters and twists life will take after it, it would have helped keep my interest if it happened a bit sooner.
