The big band sound is alive and well..., January 14, 2000

This is a prime choice for both established fans of the big band sound, and for the person who is new to the genre and looking for a good first album with which to get their "feet wet". It is very heartening to know that these fine young musicians are keeping the music of the legends like Ellington, and Basie, along with that big, wonderful sound, alive for future generations to fall in love with.
Here's a tip: Wait until everyone is out of the house, close all the windows, and turn this one up loud. The wonderful tapestry of instruments will blow you away!
"Friday Night at the Caddilac Club" is worth the price of the CD all by itself!
