Product Description

HONEYSUCKLE: The genus Lonicera contains more than 200 species worldwide and is distributed in temperate and subtropical regions of North America, Europe, North Africa, and Asia. Most of the species are small trees or shrubs. Honeysuckle is cultivated in private gardens and in cities as an ornamental because of its large, fragrant flowers and brilliant red fruits.

Sweet Tea Honeysuckle
A delightful new compact Honeysuckle with creamy yellow, shell pink and white bicolor florets make this small vine or shrub a garden focal point. Lonicera Sweet Tea has a compact habit for a trellis or for cascading down a rock wall. Lonicera, or Honeysuckle, vines have huge, tropical-looking blooms on a cold-hardy plant. Unique, fragrant, bicolor florets attract butterflies and hummingbirds.

I purchased three of these in 1 gallon containers at a local nursery during their clearance sale last fall. I didn't get around to planting them until this spring and they are doing great--beautiful blooms! I'm hoping they have some more at this year's sale.

This was one of two honeysuckle plants I purchased from this seller. They were small and appeared weak upon arrival. I transplanted them to containers on my terrace and neither survived more than a week.

I ordered a Sweet Tea Honeysuckle - Small Vine/Bush (Lonicera) from Hirt's Gardens on September 29, 2012 and it arrived 4 days later on October 3. It came in good condition protected by white foam peanuts.

The plant has 2 stems. It is a little over 10" tall at its maximum height and it has about 10 leaves. It looks like a typical deciduous vine or bush in the Fall in the North.

October 15 2012 Update

I planted it into the ground yesterday.

I will try to update later.
