About the Author

Since an early age, Laura Tabor has loved making jewellery and cooking. After studying jewellery design at Central Saint Martins College, London, the baking was put to one side as she started her own successful jewellery label, selling beautiful handmade pieces to stores and boutiques across the globe. After finishing her latest collection of jewellery, entitled Sweet, Laura decided it was time to combine her two loves - and so began her edible jewellery journey.

Contrary to the only other review of this book available, to date, on this site I am of the opinion that the pictures and creative techniques shown are delightful, realistic and achievable. The ideas are fun and quirky, just right for people with a little imagination to create and enjoy.
If I have any criticism it would be that the cover does not do the contents justice ...
Looking forward to the second in the series !!

I have NO idea what the two star reviewer was thinking. I am a chef, I own a bakery and I thought the ideas in the book were absolutely charming!!! Piping skills??? Really? So they may not be Wilton quality but that will not keep you from going wild looking at one color picture filled page to the next. Seriously so many color pictures the book itself could be made of candy! The ideas presented are simple yet spark your imagination and you will think things like "what if I did that as hard candy instead of jelly??"

Some of my favorite projects include:

Pearl shell candy lollies - A shell shaped sucker with a candy pearl - so cute!!
Candy Bangle Bracelets - what little girl wouldn't love them!?
Chocolate Cameos and Wedgewood cameo cookies - so elegant!
Marshmallow pearls - What!? So inventive!!
Chocolate coins - so much nicer than those awful ones in the gold paper
Fondant "wax" seals on rice paper envelopes - I could so see these on an envelope shaped cookie!
Crystal sugar eggs = hide a tiny prize inside a small hollowed out sugar egg!
Mini Wedding cakes - can be the spark for so many cute mini cake ideas!
Rice paper blossom jewels - LOVE!

While these projects and recipes may not be bakery quality the home bakery looking for new and inventive ideas will adore it. After all I think I paid $5 for it. Well worth the price of admission!!

I was disappointed with this purchase. I didn't think the ideas were very inventive. Furthermore, I thought the piping skills on many of the treats in the photos were weak.
