Innovative Cook Book,
By
This review is from: Sweeten Your Life the Xylitol Way (Hardcover)
I am really enjoying and benefiting from Karen Edward's cookbook. I have been cooking and baking with Xylitol for over a year, trying to adapt favorite recipes for my father who is diabetic. Karen's cookbook has now enabled me to bake healthy deserts that my father really enjoys. Karen has tried and proven all her recipes on family and friends, so I can use her recipes with confidence. She is such a professional baker, but her recipes are easy to follow. Everything I have made is very delicious. If you like lemony things, you will flip over her Lemon Pecan Cookies. I love to eat them warm right out of the oven. I linger over every bite to savor the lemon zest as it melts in my mouth. If that makes your mouth water, then I encourage you to buy her second edition of "Sweeten Your Life The Xylitol Way."

This book contains wondeful recepies that are not just "sugar free", but also take in consideration that white flour is bad for us also. So many claim to be healthy, but then use white flour as an ingredient! Xylitol is a healthy sweetener, used a lot in other countires, even actually GOOD for us! Put your foot down and say no to sugar consumption, especially for our children. Xylitol is also great for our teeth and resporatory
system. Learn about it. Check out xlear.com Thanks for listening.

made the lemon cheesecake, was told by many that it was the best cheesecake they had ever eaten (trust me, not because I'm a good cook whatsoever). the xylitol makes the cheesecake sweet but not overpowering, as many cheesecakes tend to be. perfect blend of health and taste, excited to try to make other desserts from it

Sweet, but not gluten free,

This review is from: Sweeten Your Life the Xylitol Way (Hardcover)
I was very excited to get this book but quickly realized that I would have been better off purchasing a gluten free cook book and substituting xylitol for the sugar. The recipes look amazing but I can't make 80% of them. However, I'm anxious to try the ice cream and there are several fillings and frostings which I can use. Also the recipe for condensed milk is a valuable find.

Xylitol is the ONLY sweetener I can use,

I have suffered from Chronic Candidiasis for a very long time and had to eliminate all sugars, fruits, and ALL low calorie sweeteners since ALL OF THEM feed Candida.
Xylitol is the ***ONLY*** sweetener that does NOT feed dangerous microorganisms, and the only one that I can use without getting into serious trouble. What's more, various experts affirm Xylitol PREVENTS bacterial growth, and many dentists recommend Xylitol sweetened candy or chewing gum for kids as well as for adults as a means of prevention. Slowly but surely, more and more people are getting acquainted with the great benefits of Xylitol and hopefully this great sweetener will soon TAKE OVER. The reactions mentioned by other reviewers only happen IF xylitol consumption is EXTREMELY high. Even if they happen, said reactions only occur the very first time Xylitol is consumed and, since Xylitol is a NATURAL sweetener, the body soon gets used to it. Though this book provide little information about the many amazing health benefits of Xylitol, it does provide several tasty and easy to make recipes. Whenever other sweeteners are suggested I have ONLY used Xylitol. Xylitol's GREAT taste makes it possible for me to use it on a variety of recipes.

Xylitol is a natural sugar (from birch trees) that is a healthy substitute for cane sugar. This book describes its uses and effects. Dentists recommend it for its restorative effect on tooth enamel. Very informative and useful book for those wanting to cut down their sugar use.

I made the Chocolate Squares recipe (which is basically a single layer sheet cake), and I frosted it with the vanilla cream cheese frosting recipe. The cake was moist and delicious without being too sweet. I am excited to try more recipes!!

Great little recipe book for people trying to get off sugar & replace with something actually positive for your health. Xylitol is the BOMB! No aftertaste that even Stevia leaves behind. Just wish it was cheaper. Maybe it will get that way if more people discover it!

Childhood Diabetes isn't just from lack of exercise! We are sugar-holics in this country. Xylitol is an easy way to transist from sugar to something that tastes great but doesn't upset the pancreas. Treats should be limited, but once in awhile something deliciously sweet is in order. The recipes in this book make it easy.
