4.0 out of 5 stars Miss Dale Evans
A great collection of songs by Dale Evan's before she met Roy.
These Radio and Nightclub type performances are more in the big
band era than her later Western style. A perfect introduction to her single life as Miss Evans.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dale Evans
Before Dale Evans became a cowgirl in Roy Roger's movies, she was a big band singer under Anson Weeks. Half the recordings here are from before she met Rogers and then after she became a star. Except for there being a western theme to the others, they're pretty similar. Dale Evans was a good singer who could do both equally well and was especially effective on ballads...

Now if only her "Dale Evans Sings" and some of her gospel albums with Roy Rogers were on cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dale Evans - Big Band Vocalist, February 5, 2006
This review is from: Sweetheart of the West (Audio CD)
What a great introduction to Dale's early work as a big band vocalist and club singer. I've been hoping for years that someone would search the archives and collect this music on CD. It just doesn't get any better than her rendition of "Besame Mucho" on this CD -- she can sure hold her own with the rest of the big band vocalists! Now I'm off in search of more of her music from this era. Can't wait to add it to my I-Pod.
