It is an indispensible resource for anyone willing (or made) to learn Old English. Besides providing some texts for reading together with the glossary (rather typical for a primer, eh?) it also has a section (comprising HALF of the whole volume!) on grammar, which I find especially good. It is on par with a classic such as Quirk's "Old English Grammar", the major difference being only in the phonology section. Overall, a very good buy - my only reservation is that there could be more texts... I am hard to satisfy.

Norman Davis' revision of Henry Sweet's Anglo-Saxon Primer has often been overlooked by those who teach and those who would learn the elements of Old English. As a textbook, Sweet's Anglo-Saxon Primer provides basic knowledge of Anglo Saxon that enables its readers to access the larger corpus of Old English material. Although a "condensed" grammar and reader, it is nonetheless highly useful. Its reissue attests to that fact.

Good Book, but you need to know French, German, and Latin to follow it.

Required reading for under-grad taking anthropology & archaeology of Prehistory Northern Europe as a degree. The companies service as well as the quality of the merchandise was every bit what was promised. If this quality is the standard for this book store, I will order again from this company.
