The return of the singer/songwriter is eminent - and Boston's Emily Olu leads the revival with her debut single, Swept Away. Work on Swept Away began in earnest in the spring of 2000 when Emily first brought the song to Producer/Co-collaborator, Francis Phan. Together, they realized Emily's vision and officially brought the song to life. A few months later, Swept Away would catch the attention of YellowRose Music President and CEO, Dale L. Winspeare, III. Together with an all-star cast of musicians, Emily and Dale have taken Swept Away to an even higher level. Adding the smooth, gospel sounds of former Al Jarreau back-up vocalist Jeff Ramsey, the house-inspired deep soulfulness of Ms. Athene Wilson, and the funky rockin' guitar riffs of Superhoney's Doug Sherman - Swept Away’s melodic and fresh sound celebrates Pop, Rock and Gospel genres at once. What an amazing debut album. "Swept Away" has literally swept me away. A friend of mine in Boston heard Emily Olu sing and told me I had to have this album and he was right. I have been playing it non-stop. Emily Olu's soothing and soulful voice lures you into her music. I can't wait to hear more from this new, upcoming artist and look forward to her full album. This lady has definitely got what it takes.
