4.0 out of 5 stars Unicorn Queen, July 23, 2000
By

This review is from: Swept Away (The Secret of the Unicorn Queen Book 1) (Paperback)
This is a wonderful series- I was in love with the books in 3rd and 4th grade, and even dressed up as Illyria(The Unicorn Queen) for Halloween one year. It's too bad they're now out of print- I never read past Book 5, and I'm still curious about what happens in the end. The whole idea of a girl escaping into a world full of unicorns and men who turn into eagles and beautiful women warriors captived me when I was younger, and although they're not exactly Lord of the Rings, the series deserves to be in print.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm in College and I still Love them, October 15, 1999
This review is from: Swept Away (The Secret of the Unicorn Queen Book 1) (Paperback)
I fell in love with these books when I was in Fourth grade, but my elem school library only had three in the series so I never got to finish them. I read the three they had all the way through seventh grade over and over until I moved. Now I saw the title in Amazon.com while searching for a gift for my little sister and I would love to get a hold of these books so I can finally see how they end and send them to my little sisters so they can enjoy them. Fantasy is so great. I love to see it written for the younger generations. And these are great books filled witha adventure and wonder. They even have romance to appeal to the younger girls. They are such creative books. Good Job to the authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like Harry Potter, you'll love this series!, December 10, 2005
This review is from: Swept Away (The Secret of the Unicorn Queen Book 1) (Paperback)
At the ages of 7-9, I was a very sick little girl. After coming home from getting stuck by needles at the doctor's office, my mom bought me this book. I think I finished the book in just under 2 days. I just couldn't put it down! It has everything; adventure, romance, drama, magic, and of course... unicorns! What an escape for anyone with an active imagination! This was a dose of girl-power and courage I really needed. As an adult, there are still lessons I can use in my grown up life. In a way I STILL want to be Sheila! I was lucky enough to obtain all 6 books. I urge everyone to do the same... it's worth every penny!

5.0 out of 5 stars How could such a treasure be lost to the world, April 20, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Swept Away (The Secret of the Unicorn Queen Book 1) (Paperback)
I loved this series in Jr. High and renewed my love in High school. Sadly misplaced trust and innocence robbed me of my series. I would love to introduce it to my own children. They should reprint the series in one hardback volume and sell not just to the collectors but to a new generation and to the sci fi bookclub. This series was as good- no way better than Oathblood and Vows and Honor by Mercedes Lackey. Wishing it would return to shelves.

5.0 out of 5 stars If only they were still available, April 10, 2002

I read these when I was in junior high and loved them. They had beautiful covers (artwork by Rowena, if you can believe it!), and stories that fired a young girl's imagination.

I've managed to find two of the six in used bookstores over the last several years, one of which is missing pages. The prices... are way outside the range I'm willing to pay for them. But I'd love to find the rest and complete my set!

This review is from: Swept Away (The Secret of the Unicorn Queen Book 1) (Paperback)
This is the book series that got me interested in fantasy fiction: young adult or adult! I've written over 20 fan fictiond regarding this series, and am on a hunt for my own Darian! I found these mant years ago in a used paperback book store and loved them! Unfortunately, only volumes 1, 4, and 6 were there. If anyone knows where I can get the others, please help!

5.0 out of 5 stars This series is, January 5, 2005
This review is from: Swept Away (The Secret of the Unicorn Queen Book 1) (Paperback)
I am now almost done with college and have just rediscovered this series which was my favorite to read as a child and continues to be to this day. These books are filled with adventure, mystery, magic, love, strength, and beauty. You can't help but be swept away by your imagination as you read these books. While reading about all that these characters endure, attempt, fail, and accomplish you can't help but share their adventures. This series is one that people of any age can enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars I still remember these books!, July 19, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Swept Away (The Secret of the Unicorn Queen Book 1) (Paperback)
I wanted to be just like Sheila when I grew up. I even listened to a few Bon Jovi songs because of her (I was 8 when these books came out). I just recently figured out the name of the books (I had forgotten them) and now i'm trying to find them again to reread them. I still remember the book cover illustrations too!

This series is the magnificent books that everyone MUST SEE! I am now currently working but I still miss this series a lot since I read them when I am 10 years old. I'm glad I can finally buy the series. Miss them a lot.
