I am always amazed when I listen to the music of John Barry. He can practically tell the whole story just with notes. You hardly need to watch the movie! I have loved the music for "Somewhere in Time" for years. When I heard "Swept from the Sea", I knew without even looking that it had to be John Barry's work. He is brilliant! Many times his work has gotten me through a tough day, or soothed me when I couldn't sleep. I also believe that he makes fifty percent of the magic in a film!

Being a big John Barry fan ever since Dances With Wolves,I bought this CD as soon as it was released and long before I ever saw the film.I did not think it was possible for another Barry score to be as beautiful and moving as Dances With Wolves but John Barry has managed to create a score that is both heartbreaking and uplifting and above all incredibly beautiful and magical to listen to.I would recommend this CD to any fan of great film music and an absolute nust for John Barry fans.

This is one of the most magical pieces of music i've ever heard.I love this,i love listening to this in the dark imagining a romantic fantasy.Thank you John Barry.

I LOVE this Cd it is one of the best Soundtracks out there. The music fits the movie so well and I Love the way Rachel Weisz acted in this movie you should really consider purchasing this cd because i love and im sure you will too!

I reccomend this sound track to anyone who enjoys romantic and peaceful music. It was almost as enjoyable as the sound track from titanic!

I was looking for beautiful music and found this thru Amazon and am so thankful I was able to buy this somewhere. This is unbelievably gorgeous, precious music. The fact is a shame it was so hidden and so unknown. I wish I could find more of the same, not just John Barry but John Barry and the sea!

Another satisfying John Barry score. I have a great many of his works. His music is of the sort that as soon as you hear it in the movie you feel you must buy the soundtrack.

Barry's music isn't for the emotionally squeamish. The music oozes with dramatic, aching, passionate, tragic emotions.

The only negative I can say about this score is it sounds awfully similar to some of Barry's other scores. Scarlet Letter, for example. That's the reason why Barry's scores are easily identifiable. They tend to be variations of the same underlying theme. Not that I mind because I love the theme and delight in hearing it repeated in his scores. However, it can be a slight drawback if you were hoping to hear a vastly different score from him.

I am sorry this score has been discontinued. Pick up a copy of the Scarlet Letter score instead. That will make up for missing out on this one, as they are quite similar.
