A Pleasure to Drain!,

Just received this pool for my 6 year old son and we absolutely love it! The floor of the pool inflates which is a big plus right there, as it makes draining the pool sooooooo easy. I used to wrestle with the old pool from last year, every night - it took me a good 30 mins to drain the big rectangle monster, had to prop end of pool to get water out and then start bailing with a bucket. NOT this pool - you just pull the floor plug and all the water drains by itself. My son enjoys this pool as well - just getting in to cool off with all of his pool toys - he has a grand old time. Great pool for kids and easy maintenance for parents.

I bought this pool to use as a labor/birth pool for my home birth last year. It was so comfy with the inflatable sides & bottom and the perfect depth for being able to really sink down into the water. It was easy to inflate & fill. Big enough for me to change positions and get comfortable in (as comfortable as one can be in labor) yet small enough to fit in my living room. I didn't end up giving birth in the water, but the pool has not gone to waste. My 3 year old enjoyed playing in it last summer & it was big enough for my husband & I to get in with her. Very sturdy & we will definitely be using it again this summer!

We used this pool as a birthing pool based on the review of another customer. It stood up to quite a beating, just like the reviewer said! The sides were sturdy enough to lean on while in labor, the inflatable bottom was really comfortable to sit on, and it was easy to inflate / deflate!
I can't wait to use it as a play toy for my new baby when he gets older. It's sturdy enough to use as a playpen (with supervision, of course) and then a pool when he's old enough! Highly recommended.

This pool is a wonderful asset to townhome living. It fits beautifully on my small covered patio, yet is large enough for fun play! I am no small woman, yet I fit in it with my 2 children. The Intex product line is well known for it's durability and craftmanship for a good reason! In comparison to other inflatables, it wins hands down in my opinion, and this coming from a mom who has gone through many inflatable pools. I love the convenience of the in floor drain! And the floor itself is padded for maximum comfort! At the inexpensive price, it is a very worthwhile investment that is sure to last through several summers!

I chose this pool for my homebirth. It is the only kiddie pool I am aware of that is deep enough. You really need a birthing pool to cover your belly. I could even stretch out my legs a float a bit. I have a 60 gallon water heater and it took me two tanks to fill up the pool with a thirty minute wait in between. Inflating the pool takes a very long time so you want to get a nice compressor and have it inflated before d-day. It took us 1 hour with a portable compressor. I stored the inflated pool in the garage while I was waiting and just topped off the air when I started labor. You will also need a drinking safe water hose and an adapter to hook the hose to your faucet. We did a test run at 36 weeks just to make sure it all worked.
This pool works well because it is the right depth and the right volume. It is big enough for me and my husband to both easily fit and we are both rather large. I also really appreciated the soft sides that I could flop my upper body and arms over and be comfortable and partially supported. Some rent-able tubs like the aqua doula have hard plastic sides that are not nice to touch. The one down side to getting this tub instead of other inflatable birth tubs is it does not have any handles or a raised seat inside. I didn't miss these extras. Even including the compressor I bought and some accessories like a thermometer and inflatable pillows I still spent less than $100 on the whole setup and I get to keep the pool. I didn't give birth in the pool, but I did labor for about 4 hours in the pool and I'm glad I had it ready. I'm now enjoying this pool in our back yard as an occasional hot tub or swimming pool.

We used this pool as a birth pool for our last homebirth, and it was fabulous. It was the perfect size, it was sturdy, very comfortable, and an awesome depth. My favorite part about it was that I could comfortably hang over the side of the pool without it buckling. It allowed me to get into a semi-squated position to push. One thing I would highly advise, though, is to be sure and line it with a shower curtain or some sort of thick plastic before filling it. It was a pain in the rear end to clean it out (of course, DH had to do it while I recouped, but it still was horrendous).
Awesome option for a birth pool at a cheap cost! I highly recommend it to any homebirthing mamas!

We purchased this pool to have a home water birth in. It's perfect. Large enough to fit two good sized adults in. It has an inflated bottom for comfort and the sides are high enough to get buoyancy. It also has a drain in the bottom to make emptying it easy. Make sure you check that your space is big enough. It's huge. Afterwards we've used it for the kids and they love it too. I would highly reccomend getting a pump for it though, we used the Coleman Quick Pump.

We were considering all the birth pool options on the market, all fairly expensive. To rent one locally would have cost $200+. Found this option on Amazon.com and even with several positive reviews from other waterbirthers I didn't expect much. But, the price was right, and I bought two (an extra in case of issues with the first). Our baby girl was born just yesterday in this model pool. Based on our experience, I highly recommend this pool. The sidewalls are (just like BPIAB) very supportive (held weight of momma and midwife leaning over with no issue) and are made up of 3 separate chambers (I couldn't determine this before buying) which gave us confidence in the event of a leak in one or more of the chambers. The inflatable floor worked well for us and gave some much needed comfort when sitting or kneeling. The water temperature maintained well enough that we didn't need to adjust with hot water at any point (the pool was filled just before it was needed, this does take planning and coordination with support people). Again, I cannot speak highly enough about this pool. Clean-up was easy, too, and we packed it back up for use later for introducing our little one to the water. FYI, this can also be found on the manufacturer's web store, which includes a kit that allows for the addition of a sun-protecting canopy top (and is priced even lower there; Intex). Considering birthing pool options, seriously consider this one!!!

We loved this pool - great for mom and max of two kids. It was sturdy and pretty deep for these kinds of pools. If you entertain neighbor kids though, the pool will be too small.

I don't know if they made a new model or what the deal is, but our pool DOES have a drain plug. It doesn't work great, you have to prop a stick or something in the hole to keep the flow of the water from resealing the plug, but the plug IS there. That design may actually be on purpose so that if the plug is accidentally kicked out or something you don't lose all the water, but it would be nice if there were some way to open it and keep it open without a stick.
This pool is sturdy and has multiple chambers so you can make it taller or shorter by filling only certain chambers. I think this is a well constructed well thought out pool. That being said... I'm not sure I would buy it again. I looked at the picture and thought it would be great to be able to climb into the pool with my little one... but really, how often do you want to do that compared to how often you want to just let THEM play in it? In my case, not often at all. The pool is so big that if you are trying to let them play inside while you stay out they can easily evade you. When we had a play date it held multiple kiddos and since we had enough parents to play a zone defense on the children they had a great time and everyone was safe so that was nice. But for one parent and one child this pool is BIG. This is certainly NOT a knock on the pool, just something to think about if you are a new parent. I would recommend this HIGHLY for kids that are a little older, but not for little ones. Again though, that is my bad for not thinking it through carefully... this pool is great! |
