Really fun toy that will last all summer long,

I bought this toy for my son. It is the sturdiest pool toy I've ever purchased. Unlike most pool toys, this one will definitely last all season long. I wasn't sure exactly what it did, but my son figured it out in no time. It has a timer that emits a beeping sound and that must be "disarmed" before it reaches zero. The tricky thing is that the toy becomes virtually invisible when placed in the water, so you have to listen closely to find it. My son and his friend loved seeing who could find it first. But the really amazing part is that you can control the depth at which this toy rests! From floating on the top, to sinking to the bottom, to anywhere INBETWEEN! It's pretty neat to throw this ball (which is fairly heavy) into the water and dive to the bottom of the pool to search for it, only to hear it suspended above your head, resting in the MIDDLE of the pool. All kids love diving for objects in pools. Submergency totally re-invents the dive toy...making it interactive and unpredictable. If your kids are growing tired of the traditional dive sticks, you have to get this toy!

while it lasted, submergency was great fun. but the details are somewhat misleading--the way it changes depth is by loosening the cap and allowing it to flood. we could only get it to either float or completely sink, nothing in-between. still fun--while it lasted, which was only three days. the water and the batteries don't mix well, the housing compromised and the batteries corroded within 72 hours, destroying the connections and ruining the toy. save your money and do what we do now--dive for stones!

I bought this dive toy for my kids since they practically live in the pool during the summertime. The toy is a great diversion for them and they love playing with it. That being said, I can't seem to keep water out of the battery chamber no matter how firmly I screw the chamber and outside casing shut. After 1/2 hour to an hour of water play, water seeps in and the batteries start to leak acid. Any ideas on how to seal it off better?!

In very small fine print the instructions state, "Fresh water only." Having a salt water pool it never worked after immediately shorting out. They would not refund our money.

This was a terrific toy for a few minutes. . . then it stopped working. At the end of the day, when our guests had gone home we took it apart we found water had entered the electronics and the circuits were already corroded - it's now unsalvageable. The gasket was faulty and a piece of it was completely missing. Had we checked this out first, we could have easily put some clear silicone in that spot and I'm sure it would still be working. The grandkids were very disappointed to have the fun end so quickly. Since this is such an unusual water toy, I think it's well-worth having, however, judging by the reviews there's a quality control problem. I still think it's worth the effort to check it out prior to putting it in water and ensuring the gasket is effective. If you have the skill, tools and supplies to repair it before you use it the first time, I'd highly recommend this item, otherwise, keep shopping ;)

If you like to deep six your money then this 72 toy to buoy/anchor is for you.
I even analyzed the design before using it and said lets use it as a buoy first before we add water to sink it. So for about an hour of arguing with the kids to just use it as a buoy race to get it before the shortest timer goes off, they demanded to sink it. Which was fine until the third or fourth day when the water leaked into the electronics and batteries, killing the toy. They need better battery and electronic water seals.

This is the second time I have tried to write a review about this product and the first time it was never published so here goes again. We bought this because some kids at the pool had it and it seemed to be a big hit with them. Upon opening it, it did not work. After trying everything I decided to call the manufacturer. While they were telling me they had no idea what was wrong with it, the numbers lit up and it stared to beep! They said glad it is working, and we took it to the pool. Unfortunately it never worked again. Having paid [..] for it I felt it was a total waste of money. Being one of those people who doesn't like returning things after it is opened I didn't return it - but should have so I wouldn't feel so badly about the purchase (and lack of customer service).

i saw this in a pool store and i scanned the barcode with my phone, finding amazon had it $10 cheaper so i got it on free 2 day prime. gotta say, the kids are having a blast with it so far. 4 kids have put some wear and tear into it and it seems to stand the test. i say go for it.

This product arrived and never worked. I put new batteries in it on Christmas morning looking forward to having fun with the kids in the pool, but it was dead on arrival. Disappointing. Because of other negative reviews, I'm not even giving this company the option of a replacement...I just asked for my money back. Don't purchase!!

This was a fun toy for a little while. After 2 times of using it, the batteries got wet and wouldnt work. When I first put the batteries in, I made sure the screws were tight so that water wasnt going to leak in. Im not sure what went wrong but, now we cant use it.
