5.0 out of 5 stars Great water fun
My grandson is only 4 but became interested in submarines. We bought him a couple of "baby ones" and then saw this at a good price. It works great! It has amazing propulsion and diving ability. And is easy enough to operate by a 4 year old. However, it's a bit much for bathtub use, you're going to need a swimming pool to get the best use out of it. Also, it needs to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun when it works
We bought this for our son for Christmas to use in our new pool. It was great fun on Christmas day, but stopped working Christmas night. After we disassembled it, air dryed it and then reassembled it, it began to work again. It seems to be letting water get into the printed circuit board. I have tried to seal it up and hope that this will extend the play time before...

And is easy enough to operate by a 4 year old. However, it's a bit much for bathtub use, you're going to need a swimming pool to get the best use out of it. Also, it needs to be taken apart and dried out after every use, not something that kids are going to remember to do without reminders from parents. I'm thinking that the longevity of it as a toy is going to be directly related to how involved the parent is with its after-use care.

Got this for my 5 y.o grandson. He is mesmserized by it. He figured out the remote in no time. works as stated-I didn't have any problems as some stated. Can't wait to use it in the pool now that weather is heating up. can't make any statements as to durability until we use it to the full. Its a crime that the batteries dont last long- but then I dont know of any toy that has a long battery life.

The toy was (as specified) refurbished. Good Condition (as specified)
and works like a charm. This is 1 (out of 3) subs that works; the others
had to be returned.

Despite the numerous complaints I saw here, I took a leap and hoped I would be one of the lucky ones whose product functioned. Received item within expected time frame. It worked for ten minutes, then the "Up" button ceased function. Over the next 20 minutes, the other buttons followed suit. It has been dead since that first day. Attempted to contact Pool Butler: sent email May 31. EIGHT days without reply. They finally replied with an offer to replace the product a few days later, then completely failed to follow through. I am stuck with a useless hunk of plastic. My fault for not seeing these reviews for what they are, a dire warning against this junk. Horrible product, horrible customer service. Only buy this if you like expensive trash."

What a waste. The submarine stopped working after the first day with
new batteries. The remote control did not work as advertised.

5.0 out of 5 stars Father's Day Pool Toy, June 26, 2010

My wife and daughter gave this to me for a Father's day present. It is lots of fun, and works great in the pool. It claims to have a depth limit of four feet, and it does lose radio signals at that depth. However it comes up toward the surface and starts where it left off. Our pool skimmer is the "sub pen," and it is fun to make the sub go in turn around and then come out on a "mission." A great gift for big kids too.

The Submarine works fine. My grandchildren love it. I read all the cautions about how you should open it up after every use to dry out the inside but whenever I open it up after using it the inside is always dry.

I purchased this submarine for my 4 year old and 40 year old! Works well in the pool! Moves fast but doesn't stay submerged for long. Keeps floating up to the surface. Can do barrel rolls though which is pretty cool! Only gripe is the battery case is a little difficult to get on/off. I would reccomend this toy for sure! Fun for all ages!

We received this item from Amazon.com and could not get any enjoyment with it at all. What we received was an obviously previously used product. First the screw to the battery compartment on the RC control was stripped, we eventually got the screw out to put in a battery. The submarine itself was faulty as it had some hair wrapped around the right propeller--again we removed the hair to continue trying our submarine. Unfortunatly, when placed it in our pool the Right propeller could not keep up with its opposite and the sub only swam in circles--no diving or climbing, just circles. VERY disappointing. We are returning this item to Amazon hoping they will make good on the return with a refund.
