A Diamond Waiting For Discovery,
By Emma's Mom (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Swimology (Audio CD)
This is one of my all time FAVORITE cd's on the planet. I don't know why Cory isn't more mainstream. The cd is about injured souls trying to recover, being grateful for what you have, letting go of the past...just beautiful music to fill up your home, mind and heart. She is incredibly talented and insightful in her lyric writing, and there's just something about her music that stays with you. I've had this cd for over 9 years now and it never grows old. I saw her in a small concert in Santa Barbara a while ago and she was great live as well. I will remain a true admirer of hers for as long as she keeps making her beautiful music.

Swimming upstream,
By Cletis Carr (Nashville, TN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Swimology (Audio CD)
Swimology is Cory Sipper's first official release, that is, if you don't count the wonderfully eclectic "Bedroom Tapes". Cory has an amazing gift for draping observations about ordinary people in colourful and evocative visions. From the intimate acoustic confessions of "Remembering Road", to the more alt.rock "Crop Circles", Cory covers a lot of musical ground while maintaining constistency and integrity. A great lead-up to her stunning album, Orbiter. |
