Book Description

October 4, 2004
The Swing Factory shows beginners and enthusiasts alike how to learn to play golf the easy way, without having to go to a golf course or a driving range. It was invented by one of the first and most important teachers of the game, Leslie King. Over a sixty-year career, King taught the perfect swing to tens of thousands of golfers - complete beginners as well as winners of major tournaments - in his Knightsbridge golf school, turning out world-class professionals and national and county champions. Following The Swing Factory's four easy stages, readers of any age or sex will dramatically improve their game, lower their handicap and possess the fundamentals of a consistent and successful swing for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read the book - been to the school... (there is no t-shirt), March 8, 2006
This review is from: Swing Factory (Hardcover)
I live in London and only found out about the Swing Factory recently, I've played for 19 years to a pretty good level but wanted some pointers to make me a little more orthodox and kill some of my bad habits.

I've both bought the book and attended the school and the messages throughout are consistent, its a very methodical approach and the drills in the book help the reader to build a swing the likes of which you see on TV.

I wouldn't say I'm a natural sportsman but with Dave's help and from time to time Steve's too I've been able to iron out the kinks in my swing but most importantly begin to recognise how to spot flaws myself and deal with them. There's a comment on Amazon.co.uk that a reviewer made saying they wished they'd known about this place and the book years ago - and I'd reiterate that.

I was by no means a beginner but on the downside that meant I also had 19 years of bad habits to correct.

Glad I read it, glad I attended the school.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Golf Swing Instruction Book, January 18, 2008
This review is from: Swing Factory (Hardcover)
I've read A LOT of golf instruction books (what can I say, I'm a book junkie.) If I could only have one book on how to swing to hit the long ball (drivers, fairway wood, long irons), this would be it. It does not teach you everything about hitting a golf ball. You won't learn anything about chipping, putting, or how to swing your wedges. It does present, in an easy to understand format, an easy swing for hitting the long ball.

Be aware that there are several different ideas about the right way to swing a club (swing axis, modern coiling swing, etc...) This book teaches a very traditional swing, and nothing else. I think that is a good thing. Too many books get the reader confused by trying to teach too many different things.

If you think a traditional golf swing is right for you, then this book is a good choice. It will teach it to you as a simple system you can understand.
