The video went over the basic steps very well. If you are anything at all over basic it is boring and redundent. The section on Lindy is strange. It is not the Lindy I learned or what anyone I know is dancing. I think I have never seen swing look so boring.

As always, Cal Pozo does a great job making dancing easier than it looks. He shows both the male and female steps and explains how to lead properly. Each step is shown repeatedly. At times, the repetition seems endless, but in the end, it's worth it. My husband and I enjoyed this video very much.

I was not impressed with this video at all. It lacks instruction, although it features a variety of Swing moves and styles. The instructions are too fast and they're quite hard to follow. I Have to say that this video might be helpful to someone who is a total beginner. I found a better video with good/clear instruction. It's called Swing Dancing,

This video was one of my first attempts at learning to swing dance and that was two years ago. Since then I have bought other videos that are better (Big City Swing is my favorite), but I still watch this video every once in a while, even though I have sent time teaching Swing Dancing.

The tape goes through four basic styles in a rather quick way. Cal Pozo'z style is slow enough for anyone to pick up the steps, even if you don't think you can. He has most of the basic moves that any pre-dance course would include. Cal's style of teaching is quit effective and includes foot patterns and different views.

Don't expect much more out of the video. It doesn't teach much on style and getting into the music, but it will help anyone get the steps down. Another thing that I didn't like was that he does start with the triple-lindy instead of the single lindy which makes it a little harder to get started.

Pass this video up if you are under 40 or if you don't want to look like one those stuffy ballroom dancers on PBS. However, this video is good for first timers and does give you an idea of the main types of swing. The Lindy is kinda skecthy to me though. Luckily I borrowed this one from the library.

I had no experience with swing dancing and really liked this video. I never expected to learn how to swing like the pro's from one video! This one does a great job at teaching you the basics and I really like Cal Pozo's approach...I have three other tapes by him.
