Disappointed that the misleading product descriptions give the impression that this is actually a telescope. If you're going to call it a "telescope" but it doesn't actually magnify, that should be very clear in the product description. While I didn't expect to see the stars up close, I expected it to work at least as well as the toy binoculars that my son loves. The plastic construction seems quite sturdy, so I imagine it's durable, but given it's completely pretend nature, it's probably more suited to very young kids. The compass needle moves, but appears a bit dodgy - it wasn't even pointing North when we took it out. I took a risk putting something on our Wish List that didn't have any reviews yet, so I hope this review helps people know what they're getting. For $20 + shipping, I would have saved grandma's money and painted a paper towel roll.

My kids like how it looks, but it doesn't magnify anything! It's just like looking through a window. That was kinda disappointing to them.
