This review is from: Swing - N - Slide Brentwood Wood Complete Ready - To - Assemble Swing Set Kit (Toy)
I knew when I ordered this that it was a less expensive kit so it wouldn't be as awesome as some of the 3000-4000 dollar swing sets.

Now that it is built my daughter LOVES IT!!! Everyday she thanks me for building it for her and she loves it. She is 3 and a half and plays on it every second I let her.

The quality of the materials is a little weak at some parts. This set uses a lot of 1"x4" boards made of soft wood. This means they split very easily. You have to be very careful where you drive in your screws or else you can split every board.

The hardware that came with this kit was a little weird. Instead of phillip's head screws almost all of them were Torx screws (head has a 6 point star shape). It also was missing some hardware for mounting the 2 person glider so I had to use other surplus pieces that came with the kit.

The directions that came with this kit were HORRIBLE!!!!! The directions were very vague and hard to interpret. There were minimal written instructions, mostly just pictures that only showed one side of what you were working on. Also the order in which you were instructed to do things was completely nuts. I was instructed to mount half the hardware for the glider before the support beam was put up and then there were no more directions to finish the glider. There were entire steps left out that I had to figure out what to do with no help from the directions.

If you are looking for an inexpensive decent swingset, this one overall isn't that bad. Just take it with a grain of salt. Like I said, my daughter LOVES it so I am happy. If you are going to get this give yourself 2-3 days and have at least one other adult helper. Two would be better. It also helps if your helper is light (around 150lbs if you can) and good with a drill because at one point someone has to climb up on the play house portion to mount the roof supports.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is NOT CEDAR!, June 3, 2011

The company claims this wood to be cedar on their website and on the phone. It is NOT cedar, but a sap dripping Chian import called china fir. Crap!
