I purchased the Swingline ClassicCut 15 inch guillotine paper trimmer from Amazon in July 2009 for use in my home-based business of personalized note cards and greeting cards. This solid-built trimmer easily and cleanly cuts through 3 sheets of heavy card stock with little effort. However, the measurements on my trimmer were the tiniest bit off and slightly less than perfectly square. It was so close that I blamed the card stock rather than the trimmer. By January 2010 when I confirmed that the cutter was to blame, it was too late to return to Amazon. On a whim, I contacted Swingline via their website and told them of my dilemna. With no questions asked and without prodding from me, Swingline sent me a brand new replacement. It is, of course, perfect! I will continue to buy Swingline products because I believe the problem with my original trimmer was extremely rare. But more importantly, to reward their outstanding Customer Service.

Does what it was designed to do. I think that the mainboard could have been made of another material, such as plastic. The current material can deform in humid conditions, if under some weight or pressure!

This is a great product for anyone wanting to be able to cut with precision and avoid the $200+ price tags! This is a much lower priced product, and it is far superior to the smaller razor blade trimmers.

Slicer works great except for single page cuts close to the edge of the paper. It sometimes bends the page around the side of the slicer vs. cutting it cleanly.

This is my very first experience with a trimmer. I was aiming to the plastic made products with the replaceable cutters, but I recall my school had an old beat up trimmer and it seemed to still cut good. So I went with the wooden type and self-sharpening blade. The quality is great. It's very light to carry. Plus, it cuts perfect.

Purchased for home use. Several other type paper trimmers are flimsy. Spent money on a few which were not solid or did not cut accurately. Finally decided to spend a bit more money for one that was rated well plus would not have to be replaced once again as others were. We find it to be sturdy, cuts well, has guides, and will probably last many years. We recommend this product.

I usually like to see and feel an item this size before I purchase. I was not able to on this purchase. After reading the reviews for various sizes of this product, I decided on this one due to the price. This is as sturdy as the much larger and expensive one we have at work an cuts just as good. The latch does slip off a little easier than I would like but at the moment there are no small children in the home for this to be an issue.

I have bought many cheap paper trimmers telling myself that I don't use one enough to justify a more expensive one. Every one of the cheap trimmers that I have purchased have been a disappointment and more importantly have not done a very good job of cutting paper. I finally said to myself enough and did some research and tried a number of different trimmers and, for the money, this one is everything you need in a paper trimmer. It does a great job of cutting one or more pages and does an equally good job no matter if the paper is really thin newsprint or thick card stock. My only regret is that I didn't just buy this one in the first place and save myself all of the money I spent on the less expensive ones.

Have used in a production area for 2+ years and has performed very well, however the blade has now become dull and will sometimes tear some of the paper when cutting more than 8 sheets at a time. The cutting blade appears to be replaceable - but have not been able to find a source for just the blades. If we can't find a replacement blade I would buy another of same model - as the purchase price is very reasonable.

Attractive and cuts well. The combination of metric and inch grids on the cutting board is a bit confusing, but a fact of history/current situation.
