I bought this model of stapler in 2001 and have used it in my office since. I send out about four hundred statements each month and have to staple each plus I use it for other things many times a day. This stapler has had a lot heavier use than an average desk stapler and is just now starting to give me trouble. It still works but needs a lot of coaxing. I plan to replace it with a new one exactly like it because this one has done such a good job for so long. I recommend this item.

This stapler has no doubt saved me from a bad case of carpal tunnel.

I staple well over 100 pieces of paperwork every day, 5 days a week, every week of the year. I've used this stapler for about 8 months, and it makes me feel spoiled. It helps me get my work done in less than half of the time it used to take, it has no special staples you have to buy (unlike our other office automatic stapler) and although IT WILL JAM at least once a day, it's VERY simple to fix. I personally find it easier to fix a jam on one of these than on a manual one. I've broken and disposed of about two manuals this year, but the automatic is still going strong. I love it.

I'm not sure why some of the other reviewers have had a hard time with this model, but it's been a life-saver for me.

I bought this stapler a few months ago. After just a few days of plugging it in, it ceased to work. I was displeased, but Amazon sent me another at no expense to me. I was again happy. Now this morning, I was stapling two pages together and a piece of plastic flies out of my machine. The tip of the staple feed broke! Now it is too late to return it. I am ordering another stapler, but you can be guarenteed it wont be a Swingline.

This stapler looks good, but doesn't work. It jammed every other time and eventually, stopped working all together. After only using it may 10 to 15 times, it stopped completely. I only had it a few days.
Luckily, Amazon arranged for a return and gave me back all my money I had spent. I'll defintely investigate these a bit more before just buying based on the looks.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS ONE!!!!

I love that this has a compact profile, and that it can run on batteries. My job requires me to do a decent amount of sorting & stapling in a few hour period, one day a week This item works well for that, and would also be great for someone who staples a few things a day in the normal course of their work. But, having previously owned a nicer stapler with an automatic sensor and a lightning fast staple process, I can easily see the difference. At that time, I did lots of sorting and stapling for a few hours at a time, on a daily basis. You're looking at around two seconds to get something stapled, vs. a half a second. Depending on your needs, it can be no biggie, or seem like an eternity.

Also, it doesn't take a full magazine of staples - slightly annoying, but not a real big deal.

If you need it for daily high-volume use, it will most likely work fine for you, BUT I'd suggest spending just a few extra dollars on a nicer one.

I 'inherited' this stapler from the previous office manager so I'm not sure how old it is. I've been using it for over 3 1/2 years and I'm so glad to have it. If it's ever given me problems, they've been so few and far between that I don't remember. Loading staples couldn't be easier. It gets a pretty good workout five days a week! I highly recommend this product.

I purchased this stapler because I had used one (same model), for about three years, that worked great. However, this new one is horrible. It jams constantly, blank staples 15/20 times and when you get down to about the last 20 staples it won't staple at all anymore--it makes the stapling motion/sound, but no staple actually comes out. I did find that if I use Swingline brand staples that it doesn't jam and blank staple nearly as often, but the one I had before which was the exact same model worked fine with any kind of staple. Overall I've not been nearly as happy with the new Swingline Electric Staples as I was with the old one.

I bought this one a few months ago to replace a smaller Swingline model. This one is still going strong. Seems to be fine for relatively light personal and small office use.

I have had 3 of these break in 2 years. Don't waste your money. They are made cheaply and jam easily.

Stapler is exactly what I wanted - compact and does the job.
Not a problem stapling multiple pages together - highly recommended.
