There are two versions of this punch...,
By San Francisco Computer Guy "sf_computer_guy" (San Francisco, CA United States) - See all my reviews - The 20-sheet version has a lock for the handle, so it doesn't take up as much room. The 12-sheet doesn't. - The 20-sheet version has a lifetime warranty---which includes performance. If it stops working as well as it did when brand new; 20 years from now, they will replace it. The 12-sheet version has a 90 day warranty. - The 20-sheet version is more robustly built and has a window at the bottom to see the collected "confetti". The 20-sheet version also has each hole labeled should you want to reconfigure where the punches are. (For example to turn it in to a 2 hole punch). The 12-sheet lacks all these features. Speaking of which, both these models are only semi-adjustable. I.e. you'll need a screwdriver to rearrange the punches should you want to punch anything other than standard 8.5x11 paper with three holes. Should you really want to do this---buy a different punch. But if you are only punching 8.5x11 sheets with the standard three holes, the 20-sheet version is nice and deserves 5 stars....if you can get it for a decent price. The 12-sheet version is not nearly as nice. I give it only three stars.

a small breakthrough,
By Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm a convert. The little arm that extends diagonally from the base of the hole punch not only allows you to apply adequate pressure to punch through multiple pages, but also facilitates a slow, steady movement that makes punching holes the old way seem crude. The only liability of this product is that its vertical height means it no longer fits where I kept my late, lamented, other hole punch. But I'll get over that. Good grief, I'm actually excited about this hole punch. Does that tell you something?

Great for small jobs!,

This review is from: Swingline 12 Sheet Light Touch Desktop 2-3 Hole Punch (74026) (Office Product)
I bought this punch for work to put together some binders. I had been using a heavy duty punch that I no longer had access to, so replaced it with this one...and am glad that I did!It is extremly easy to use. The lever allows you to "punch" with one hand. It is also easy to empty and doesn't leak paper bits when you pick it up or move it. Another bonus is that it is very light weight and easy to use. I would recommend this for jobs that are more medium-duty. If you are looking to punch a lot of papers at once, I would go with something heavier duty, however this seems to work great for small applications.!
