Relaxation at its best!!,
This review is from: Omni Swings Hanging Hammock Chair Stand (Lawn & Patio)
This hammock chair stand is fantastic! It was easy to assemble, doesn't take up much floor space, and seems sturdy so far. As a bonus it takes very little effort to make your chair sway or bounce, unlike a more conservative stand. I'm very, very pleased with it and spend more time than I should curled up in my hammock chair hanging from this stand - it's a procrastinator's dream!!!By the way, I'm 5'3" and while I DO have to tippytoe to get in it's really not that much of an effort, the trick is to back up and hold the bottom down with your hands then sit - I wouldn't recommend this stand for anyone much over probably 230 lbs though since it IS flexible and it bends with weight.

Not for shorter people!!!,

I am 5'6" and this stand does not work for me. If my hammock chair was set at a height I could get into, then when I sat in it I "bottomed out" and hit the stand where the 3 feet connect. You must be tall to get full use/swing of this stand. ... one of 2 screw holes did not line up so I couldn't get full support, and ... it was all scrapped up and after just 2 days outside (one of which rained) it was starting to rust!!! ...

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Omni Swings Hanging Hammock Chair Stand (Lawn & Patio)
When I ordered two of these (May '04) Amazon was having a sale on them, and also offering free shipping. That made the cost of these large steel stands barely more than I'd paid for the hammock chairs I intended to use with the stands, and less than one fifth what a pair of vastly larger and more ugly hammock stands would have cost from the only store I've found locally that sells such stands.Though large, these stands need to be, to safely support us, and they do so very well. Surprisingly, they also look very good from a distance, and don't block the view from our home. One hint: the bolts can be hard to tighten with the included Allen wrench. I found putting WD40 on the threads first helped a lot, as did using a higher quality Allen wrench. For a couple of bolts, even more help was needed, but for them a pair of Vise Grips did the trick. Alternatively, I could have easily gotten suitable replacement bolts at a nearby hardware store. Once tightened, the supplied bolts look very good, and seem likely to be very able to survive wet outdoor conditions without rusting. I will add wooden pads to the base of the stand soon, to make sure the paint isn't scraped off the base by our concrete patio. There are handy bolt holes in the base to make such pads easy to add. In our case, the delivery company (Eagle) was very helpful, friendly and courteous, arriving within an agreed 4 hour window, and even bringing the heavy cases into the home, though they were not required to do so. All in all, an incredible bargain.
