Be surrounded in total comfort, taking advantage of that well-deserved moment of respite. The hammock chair is a classic design clearly made for comfort and durability. The chair has nickel-plated fasteners, weatherized natural-cotton rope, and a triple-varnished hardwood hanging bar. The chair's craftsmanship is fantastic, with hand-braided reinforced edges and a woven body with macrame ends for added support. With its superior materials and great design, the hammock chair is sure to provide season after season of use. The chair comes with detailed hanging instructions and diagrams.

5.0 out of 5 stars great; weight limit & hardware, January 28, 2001
By "elanam" (Cambridge, MA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Omni Swings n' Things 510 Rope Hammock Chair, Natural (Lawn & Patio)
This is a beautiful, sturdy, well-designed product. At first I thought it would look silly in a New England apartment, but then I sat in it and stopped caring. It's that comfortable. It's also fairly unobstrusive, and in a pinch (toddlers visiting? landlord dropping by?) it's easy to substitute a hanging plant or just unhook the chain from the ceiling altogether.

As far as safety, if you install it correctly you have nothing to worry about; yes, it will hold two people at once. :-) You'll need to buy a length of chain at the hardware store -- ask for 3/16" link, 750-lb test, and get one or two S-hooks that fit through a link. The chair itself is rated to support up to 500 lbs. Finally, a 2" x 4" ceiling joist will support 450 lbs over a 10-foot span before it begins to bow or buckle. Recommended . . . enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Balconies/Condo's, October 19, 2000

I got one of these and put it up on the balcony of my condo. Absolutely great. My only real complaint is the amount of support you get for your neck. It can be kinda awkward, but once you get it figured out, this is great for small tight places.

Note, you will probably need to buy a length of chain to hold the chair to the roof/branch. It comes with the hook to put in the ceiling, but not the connecting chain. Unfortunately the description here doesn't include this information. Be forewarned.

2.0 out of 5 stars Omni Swing not the quality as expected, September 5, 2002
By "greenvillejan" (Greenville, SC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Omni Swings n' Things 510 Rope Hammock Chair, Natural (Lawn & Patio)
The pair of swings purchased was below the quality I expected from reading the ad. Eight months earlier I purchased a hand made one in town for the same price...as the value amount portrayed by the ad. So when the ad stated on sale for 1/2 price, I didn't expect 1/2 quality. Sorry, but I had to send mine back. I'll just stick to the local vendors.
