No, not animal house. We grew up. Now we drink wine. The biggest question when confronted with a wine list at a restaurant or store is "What do I get?" Having a wine app on your phone is a great way to try and answer this question. When I get a bottle, I add it to this app and grade it. Since I've been using this app (since summer '10) I've been learning about wines and have built a great list of wines that I like, and wines to avoid.

Why go with the paid version? Because I need to add my wines to the app. That way I have my history in my pocket.

I didn't think it would be worth upgrading from the free version of Swirl, but that was clearly a wrong assumption. I especially like the one feature that lets you search for wines in a way that wasn't available on the free version. If only other apps would follow this strategy.

Nice Android app for the average wine drinker. It does have a few minor bug when using the camera function - app locks up and you have to close/reopen to unlock. Otherwise pretty good.

Started good, but after looking up a wine one would want to add their personal rating and notes easily. It would seem that in order to do that you have to make a local copy of the wine and then edit, but then there are two with the same name and that is confusing...
