5.0 out of 5 stars Must have!
Comes really handy. I am using it on my music stand and am very happy with it. No more hiding your glasses so you won't kick and spill them. :o)

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very sturdy
The SwirlyGig isn't stiff, like I expected. It is a bit springy and flexible. It doesn't hang level on the mic stand. A pint glass that is more than 3/4 full will spill over the side when the glass is in the SwirlyGig. There is no way to tighten the attachment, so it slips down the mic stand to the joint where the two rods meet. It is fine for me height wise, but just...

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a place for my pint!, March 8, 2010

As a musician who most often performs in a bar setting, the proper placement of my ubiquitous pint glass has sometimes been a quandary. More than once over the past decade I've kicked the glass in my musical enthusiasm ... and wasted precious beer. The Swirlygig is so freakin' handy, I don't know why I've never seen one before. It's perfect for getting the job done.

The Swrilygig drink holder works a charm. It's dead easy to slip onto the mic stand and holds my drink steady. The problem of "where do I put my drink?" has been solved.

There is no way to tighten the attachment, so it slips down the mic stand to the joint where the two rods meet. It is fine for me height wise, but just doesn't seem very stable. If you wiggle or bump the mic stand the SwirlyGig will jostle its position around the pole (this aside from the obvious, that if you tip your mic stand you will tip your drink).

5.0 out of 5 stars Swirlygig Drink Holder Rocks!, October 4, 2010

I bought this just as a gag, but it truly works wonders. Performing on stage, one of the biggest problems is losing track of your drink, and if you are a vocalist, it is of the utmost importance to be able to grab some hydration in between songs, or even in between words (sometimes). This is a little tricky to figure out the first time, but once you learn how to hook it up, it's a gem. It holds very fast to the mic stand and your cup is safely suspended at a level that's comfortable for you. The only downside is if you jump around alot or if you play guitar and sing, it might be a dangerous spill hazard (careful!) but overall, I found it to upgrade my live show by a few notches and people were asking me after where I bought it. If you're sick of kicking over cups of beer or searching for yours in a sea of half empties on the guitar cabs, kick up the fifteen bucks and get a swirlygig. (For us germ freaks, it's a necessity).

This may be the greatest invention ever (right behind the airplane, automobile, refrigerator, toothbrush, television, beer and internet porn).

It's perfect for holding my pint of Guinness and it fits right on the mic stand in a very stable manner. I can't count the number of times I've (or someone else has) kicked my beer, mixed drink or water over on stage. I also have multiple ring stains on my PA Amp (not to mention ruined set lists) because I had nowhere else to put my drink. Now I've got this drink holder and I couldn't be happier. I smile on stage more which makes the audience happy too! :)

What can I say but I love my Swirlygig Microphone Stand Drink Holder and would like to nominate the inventor for president! At the very minimum, they should get a holiday in their honor or at least a life time supply of beer!

In all seriousness, this is a fantastic product and I really am excited about it. Buy it now and don't worry about anymore spilled drinks. Unless, of course, a dumb drunk falls into you while you're playing and knocks the mic stand over. Nothing the Swirlygig can do about that. Perhaps they could invent the Catch-A-Dumb Drunk Safety Net that could clip on to the PA monitor? But I digress...

The Swirlygig is simple but brilliant. It works perfectly and has put an end to spilled water bottles on stage. It definitely delivers.

These are the greatest invention since the telecaster. I got one for myself, liked it so much I got five more for the rest of the band. No more spilled drinks on the practice room floor/amps. And at gigs, it looks so much better than a drink on the floor, riser, amp, etc. Get one!

I love this product very much, but the whole point of getting it was to hold my booze while I wreck my throat. By the beginning, it's a fantastic thing, but by the end I'm dipping the mic stand (and my beer) which can be a bit of a bummer.

In summation, I really like this product, but make sure to remember there is liquid in it....or don't get trashed...
