I give this book 5 stars because it is action packed and some parts were like WOW! I think the athour's purpose is to create an adventure to picture in your mind. The mood can be scary and cool at the same time. There are parts where you are like why did they do that. And there are many main characters they are Fritz, Elizabetth, the dad and more. The point of view is the dad's and also it probably is 1st person and the book form is like a journal. Theme is to show you what life is like on an island. I think you should read it! ~Farve

The book was all I had hoped it would be: sturdy, interesting illustrations, good size text--all in all, made my grandson of 10 years eager to get reading.
