5.0 out of 5 stars Quick set-up, good quality
Set-up's a snap with two people; not bad at all even with one. First night of camping, arrived about 10 minutes to sunset, and had Swiss Gear tent up by myself before dark with time to spare. (Note: Did a practice set-up at home before leaving - it helped).
Quality of stitching and zippers seems good, tent held up in some fairly strong winds. Breaks down and fits...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
This is not a three person tent. It will be tight for two with equipment. We just joined scouting and I thought we needed a new tent. I read the reviews on this one and with all the positive feedback, I thought it was a no brainer. After setting it up as a practice run I am seeing it is not a three person, and barely a two person. The flooring is as thin as the tent side...

Breaks down and fits easily into the nice carry bag, which has tent set-up instructions sewn inside, not that you'll need them once you've done it the first time.
The window zips closed. The dome of the main tent is screened and cannot be closed. The rain fly goes over top of that.
Very pleased with the Swiss Gear tent after my first three-day trip with it.

I have two other, much more expesnvie tents -- a North Face expedition, and a Bibler. I bought this one for casual weekend camping.

This is a really nice tent! It sets up easily, is spacious, and appears VERY well made and designed. I'm delighted for the price.

We just use it while we camp at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park.
It's very easy to set up and it's also roomy for 3 people (2 adult and one teenager).
This product has a 10 year warranty and it's only weight 9 lbs.
I strongly suggest you to buy this tent for weekend backpacking trips.

5.0 out of 5 stars this tent's outstanding..., November 4, 2006

my girlfriend and i have used this tent all over the state of Fl. although it's not like camping in "the great northwest" which is where i was raised, this tent is still very impressive for it's cost and efficency. we were caught in a "gator gusher" thunderstorm before one of the hurricanes hit central Fl. in 2005. it shook and swayed in gust's to 40mph but we never got so much as a single drop of rain inside.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Beginner Tent---Pennsic tested and approved!, August 27, 2006
This review is from: Swiss Gear 7 by 7-Foot Three-Person Sport Dome Cheval Tent (Sports)
I'm very pleased with this tent. I've never put together a tent before, or lived in one for 5 days. It was very easy to get up and get all my stuff situated. The tent is very cozy, aka small, so I would only recommend this as a single person tent. You could fit two people in a pinch as long as they both used sleeping bags. I used a cot and I was pretty comfortable. If you are over 5' 10", I wouldn't recommend sleeping on a cot in this tent; you won't have enough leg room. Unless you are very short, you will also have to bend over to get dressed. As far as rain goes, make sure you zip up the door all the way, otherwise it will leak (the overhang does not prevent that). After it rained, I realized that I had left the solid door unzipped about an inch. I had some water come in the front of the tent and get some of my things wet. I'd recommend putting a towel in front of the door to catch any leaks and mud from your shoes. All in all, it was a great first tent for a single person. If it can stand up to Pennsic War weather (and it did), then it should be good for most basic camping needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Swiss Gear 3-Person 7x7 Sport Dome Tent, February 21, 2006
This review is from: Swiss Gear 7 by 7-Foot Three-Person Sport Dome Cheval Tent (Sports)
I purchased this tent because of the price, it was very reasonable. The tent is perfect. I was able to set it up with my young daughter w/o any problems. The quality is great, the size is perfect and you can definitely fit three people and gear in it.

I was very impressed with the quality and comfort of this tent for such a great price. The tent is very big on the inside, I put a queen size air mattress in and had room to spare. I love the mesh gear loft, it has zipper pockets so you don't have to worry about your cell phone dropping on your face in the night. Great buy!

It just barely fits a queen size inflatable matress but you can get one in there! This is a very well built tent with lots of extra pockets and other things I haven't figured out what they're for yet. The first night that I used it, it rained on us, and not one drop leaked through =)

I have used this tent for two camping trips lasting 2-3 days, and this has worked awesome. There is only room for two adults in this tent, I guess you can squeeze in the third person. It rained heavily that we had to cut one of the camping trip short, but this tent was cozy and dry. Its very easy to set up, takes less than 10 minutes. Good Value for the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars i like it quite a bit, March 4, 2008

for the price you cant go wrong...

1. i never watersealed my tent, but have used it in a heavy rainstorm... as long as you dont touch the sides and create seeping it stays dry.

2. flimsy bottom, but if your carefull and add a footprint or tarp underneath, its good enough. mine hasnt torn after 7-10 uses.

3. great carry bag... the worst part of collapsing a tent is stuffing it into a crappy stuff sack with seams about to burst. this one is not only big enough to get the tent back in with all the pieces, it has enough room to add a tarp and a stong zipper to keep it closed. this bag will outlast the tent... a first for me.

4. for the price i could (concievably) buy a new one every year and still come out better than paying $300 for a kelty or north face that typically lasts me 3 seasons. my tent is still in good enough condition that it is going strong into its 2nd season.

5. seams around the D pannel door is starting to show some wear. i have to be carefull not to pull too hard and rip but not bad for the 2nd season in an inexpensive tent.
