5.0 out of 5 stars Great Hiking Tent
I like the fact that this tent comes with a 10 yr warranty and that it uses aluminum poles. This is a great 1 person tent and an adequate 2 person tent. It is quality made and very durable and you cant beat the price! Also be sure you look for the "other" tent exactly listed like this one on amazon because they offer a cheaper price and shipping! Also always seam seal...

1.0 out of 5 stars Ripped
This tent came ripped, so I doubt the fabric is very high quality. I contacted the seller and he responded very quickly and offered to send a replacement. Also, I noticed someone asked about the floor construction...it is not a tub floor, and the seams on the floor are not taped, and the fabric is very lightweight, even more so than the rain fly.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lot in a little tent, May 22, 2009

This little lightweight tent has a lot of features packed into it.
I used this as a 1 person tent in April. Went from 90 degrees to 40's with some high winds and thunderstorms. I and my gear remained completely dry. The areas to the left and right of the door opening worked perfectly to put a tote on each side out of the sun and rain.
To keep from tracking mud into the tent, I placed a small tarp under the doorway. There was a ceiling hook that worked perfect for a light. There was room for a single sized air mattress, plus some gear at one end. Beside me there was room for a large backpack.
Setup was fairly simple after having set it up once in my living room. Packing it away was a breeze (especially compared to other tents I've owned). There is plenty of room in the carry bag for all the tents components. They bag has straps to compress the contents. It is a nice, neat, and compact tent.

I would recommend this tent for anyone looking for a 1-2 person tent.
If you find it in the thirty dollar range, it becomes a highly recommended tent.

We took this backpacking in Colorado, and it passed the field test with flying colors. The tent kept us dry. The vestibule in the front was great for keeping shoes and packs dry, yet out of the inside of the tent, which is cozy for two people. The construction is good. It is reasonably light and durable. I am not a regular backpacker, but it impressed the more seasoned veteran among us. It is a good value and I recommend it highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, December 1, 2008

I bought this tent for a Thanksgiving weekend trip up to Allegheny National Forest. It was good and cold for the trip & plenty of snow. This tent performed beautifully. I stayed warm & dry even in the cold, snowy conditions. I've bought several different tents for several different camping trips in all kinds of weather & I think I'm done buying tents after getting this. The only thing I would say is that for 2 people the quarters would be tight & all gear would have to be left outside under the rain fly. For a solo tent, it's easy to set up, keeps you warm & is lightweight enough for any kind of back packing adventures. Overall, it's a great tent at an unbeatable price!

4.0 out of 5 stars SwissGear tent is just right, May 16, 2010

I purchased this SwissGear tent for 3 reasons? The price was in my budget for the casual weekend camping that I do with Boy Scouts. The size was perfect for 1 person and all my gear, including backpack. (This tent will sleep 2 adults) I also liked the oversized rain-fly that coveres this tent to the ground keeping wind and rain outside where it belongs. Also the extened area of the rain-fly over the door allows campers to store gear just outside the door keep interior space at a maximum yet keeping gear out of the weather. The final feature of this tent is the mesh material that makes the tent free of humidity. Many tents will get a watery residue on the inside of the tent from body heat as you sleep. This is a very uncomfortable condition to deal with when you wake from sleep. Since this SwissGear tent is 100% mesh, that same moisture collects outside the area of the tent on the rain-fly keeping the living area dry. If you camp alot, this feature will make your camping much more comfortable. This tent only has 1 door for entry & exit. This is the only feature that I would offer on the down side. Price, quality and design, size and features are all very good.

It is cheap and light weight but firm construction. It work really well during rainny days at White MT,NH. It is great solution for summer time not for the winter.

Hi- Thank you for thinking about how the product would be shipped. Being thoughtful about the tent being a Christmas gift and making sure the surprise was not spoiled was really appreciated. I'm sure that you were busy with your own things to do but you took time to make sure my order was shipped with care and secrecy. Thanks again! Liz
