I own a number of watches ranging from Omega Seamaster Professionals ($3000+) to relatively inexpensive digital watches. For the money, this is the best built watch I have ever seen. Materials and workmanship seem excellent, not quite on par with my Omega watches, but not too far behind either, and at a small fraction of the cost. The watch feels heavy and solid, and the band in particular is impressive- forged stainless steel links (rather than the bent sheetmetal links used on most watches in this price range). Time will tell how well it holds up, but even if it turns out to be not the most durable watch, at this price it would be hard to complain.
My only caveat would be that the watch band is not as large as most. It is fully adjustable, and its maximum length should fit almost anybody, but it is not quite as excessively long as most- if you have really large wrists, this band may not be large enough.
All in all, highly recommended.

The was a great watch for the six months it lasted; now it's a paperweight. The crown fell off while I was setting the time about a month ago. The watch comes with a two year warranty so I tried to get it fixed...

I've tried to get in touch with Hanowa customer service (based in China) for the past two weeks and nothing - not even a reply email. Worse still, there is no phone number listed for them in the USA or Canada so I have no way to setup a warranty claim. [...]

So, in summary, poorly made product with non-existent customer service. FAIL!

Turns out that there is customer service in the USA and they did a great job (once I finally got in touch with them via email). Repaired my watch and got it back to me quickly. Upgraded the product to 3 stars.
