4.0 out of 5 stars Really Very Clever, Well Made Tool - Recommended
The "Swiss Tech Micro-Max" is a very cool multi-tool, with good pliers, a solid Phillips head and flat screwdrivers (3 of each), a "hand drill", and wire cutters. It technically has other tools, but they are mostly "filler" (i.e. ruler marks?). That being said, the real tools are well worth the cost of this well made and compact tool. 3.0 out of 5 stars Nice tool, but I've used better.....
This tool arrived with some faint signs of rust. Not what I expected for a new item. It works fine, but I like the IDL Tools International 2000CP T10 Keychain MultiTool better.

It technically has other tools, but they are mostly "filler" (i.e. ruler marks?). That being said, the real tools are well worth the cost of this well made and compact tool. The folding design also allows this to be carried in pants pockets or in a computer case, which is very convenient.

Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pocket tool kit, February 8, 2010

There are times to carry a leatherman tool on your belt, and there are times when you shouldn't. Those are the times when this light, well-made tool can be extremely helpful. I've used it to tighten glasses, make holes in a belt, undo and tighten screws and nuts, and open bottles of beer. On that last, if you can't solve the puzzle of where the opener is, you've had too many.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Multi Tool, January 19, 2010

This is probably Swiss Tech's best yet. I have owned Swiss Army knives, Buck multi tool. This is what leatherman wished they would have thought of. It's no full size leatherman. But it is good if you have to go light.

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent in theory. Not so much in practice., July 21, 2011
This review is from: Swiss+Tech MMCSSS Micro-Max 19-in-1 Keychain Multitool (Automotive)
I bought one of these off ThinkGeek about 3 years ago. I really liked it, especially the weight. I like having something big on my key ring, so I can feel the weight and know I have my keys. It made a first rate key chain, not so much as a tool. I thought having all the functions would increase its utility, but it actually hampered it considerably. And I'll tell you why: Its flimsy. Because SwissTech had to fit all the tools on a single small piece, each tool, and more importantly each bearing, is extremely thin: A few millimeters I'd say. Because of this, there is not enough friction in the bearing to keep it steady. When you unfold it to use the drill bit or screw heads, the tool swivels very easily on that particular bearing. The result it you can't keep your hand steady enough to get adequate leverage. The same problem occurs when using the tool as a pliers: The hinges swivel. Another problem caused by the small size is rigidity: The smaller tools have next to none. When I received it, the cork screw was already warped in such a manner that rendered it unusable in practice. After the first year, many of the smaller bit drivers were too. It the end, this story ended itself. A third debilitating flaw caused by the small size and the number of tools, is the excessive ease if opening the pliers, which lets it off the key ring. Its prone to opening on its own when it experiences a sharp impact. One day after yelling at the campus safety department on my schools campus for changing my dorms locks without telling me, while walking done the stairs I took my key lanyard out of my pocket to change put the new key on it. While taking it out I let it swing, and I guess i must have hit a wall, or table, or railing or something, causing the tool to open and fall off my lanyard. I didn't even notice it was gone for nearly 12 hours, so had no idea where it fell off. I looked for it but couldn't find it, so in the end I consider it a sacrifice to the gods of incompetent campus services. The only real legacy of this tool is that the design shortcomings of this style and brand have more or less skied me away from buying a comparable replacement.

In summary: The number of components on this tool and their necessitated small size render this tool very difficult to use, primarily due to the tiny surface area if the opposed surfaces in the bearings, causing said bearings to swivel extremely easily. This flaw also results in the pliers opening up spontaneously under the conditions of normal daily use, which can result in losing the tool. The smaller components, especially the cork screw, are also too thin to provide adequate rigidity to sustain normal use. In theory this is a great tool; in practice, not so much.

1.0 out of 5 stars Fail, March 21, 2011

For the first month, it stayed tight and on my key chain. I used it a couple of times for light jobs and then it never stayed closed. It would fall off my key chain with little effort and now it's totally useless. Screws or something to retighten the limbs would have been better. Avoid this product and consult alternative simpler designs.

Very small, well made, handy to have around. I liked it so much, I bought several and gave them to some friends to keep in their fishing tackle boxes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy small yet almost to small, May 27, 2011
This review is from: Swiss+Tech MMCSSS Micro-Max 19-in-1 Keychain Multitool (Automotive)
Very well built multitool, has everything you need for everyday random uses. Hinges are built strong and can withstand a good amount of torque. My hand is pretty large compared to most people, and it is about 1/4 the size of my palm. This would be my favorite tool if it were about twice the size as it is. I have been looking for an end that is not shaped like a needle nose but more so like a channel lock to get a good bit on a nut or screw head. This little tool bits well on small nuts and screw heads, and with the way the handles fold you can get really good leverage on it. Great tool to have everyday do not notice it is in my pocket at all. Overall nice tool. For my hands needs to be larger though.

This is a great Multi Tool, but the image shown does not correspond with the product name. The first image is from the "New 2008 Swiss Tech Transformer ". The Porduct name is from this product "[...]" that is the top of the range of Swiss Tech Multitools.
I only want to help people not to buy it by mistake

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a great little tool!, September 4, 2011

The Swiss Tech tool is a great little key chain!

And it's just that, a keychain that has plenty of uses. It is made extemely well, maybe slightly heavy but I like products that are heavy and reliable.
I think some other reviewers have this little tool all wrong, talking about that it's not a "real" survival tool and whatnot. Well, it's obviously not meant to be the solve all tool that some people want.

It is however a well built little tool that barely is fealt in the pocket to help out in a pinch! If you want a fix all... then buy yourself a Tool Box and fill it up, but expect it to be hardly toteable.

Great little tool, Great Price, buy it!
