5.0 out of 5 stars everyone should have one on their keyring!
You have to handle one of these in person to appreciate what a beautiful piece of engineering this multi-tool really is. When closed, the head of the pliers wraps around your key fob as a tag-like object on your keyring. No leather sheath is needed.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great little tool, one vital flaw.
This is a handy little tool, well made and a good price. But it doesn't 'lock' onto a key ring, if both 'arms' extend through shaking or similar activity it will fall off. So beware or you'll lose yours like I lost mine. I don't think I'll be buying another because of this problem.

You have to handle one of these in person to appreciate what a beautiful piece of engineering this multi-tool really is. When closed, the head of the pliers wraps around your key fob as a tag-like object on your keyring. No leather sheath is needed.

Despite the deminutive size, this multi-tool makes a decent set of pliers and has good grip - and the tool is weighty beyond it's stature. The mini screwdrivers are part of the larger screwdrivers and swing out on tight, but not stiff pivot hinge.

These are solid stainless steel - not just some coating - the finish is like a brushed gun metal that is just classy looking. No chrome will be flaking off after a week or a decade in your pocket... this is one of those tools that will just look classier when it gets a few dings in it - but it will take a long time for that to happen.

Unlike cheap knock-offs, this thing doesn't swing open or "undo" itself in your pocket. The tool opens up with the precision of a European steering column - firm, but not rigid - you are in control - you use the tool, you don't fight with it.

Everyone runs into a situation where they need a tool once in a while - but not everyone can carry a big Leatherman with them all the time. I wish they had a model with scissors and nail clippers - but as it is, I almost need a cigarette after using this gizmo. A great gift and a handy thing to buy for yourself as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars A bit disappointing..., February 14, 2008
This review is from: Swiss+Tech MPCSS Micro Plus 8 in 1 Keyring Tool (Misc.)
I got this to replace my old basic swiss army knife keychain. Looks like a very slick design, but maybe not as great in practice. First, it's missing a knife. This is remedied with the Utili-key (which is an awesome tool, see my separate review), but I think it should have a knife. More importantly, the function isn't great. The pliers aren't spring-loaded, which, given their size, would help a lot. When using the pliers, the arms tend to pivot, which also hurts usability. Lastly, the build quality isn't great. Mine didn't feel like it fit together right, and none of the moving parts moved smoothly. A leatherman squirt p4 is about the same size, and is a much more solid/practical tool (I got the utili-key, swiss-tech, and leatherman at the same time, since I couldn't decide). If you don't need the pliers, definitely get the Utili-key. Otherwise, the leatherman is the better choice.

4.0 out of 5 stars It comes in handy, August 19, 2008
This review is from: Swiss+Tech MPCSS Micro Plus 8 in 1 Keyring Tool (Misc.)
I've had a few keyring multitools, and this is the one I've kept the longest. As others have mentioned, it wouldn't be hurt by the addition of a knife, but I fly often enough that having to pack my keyring in checked luggage is annoying, so I don't really miss it.

It's incredibly solidly built and surprisingly powerful - the wire snips will cut through pretty much anything you can fit in there, and the grooves on the handles (apparently for measuring things) make it easy to grip. The screwdrivers will handle most tasks that I encounter without a problem.

The way the handles are jointed means that, even if the rivet loosens, tit won't open itself up and fall off your keyring, as other tools I've used have tended to do. And it all fits into a tiny, light package.

It's no Leatherman, but it does what it does very well.

Works as advertised. These things are indespensible. Though smaller than a leatherman they can handle most situations.

This tool is just what i needed. A small tool that fits in the keyring and don't let you feel unconfortable, as if you had a car in the pocket.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST HAVE!!!, December 15, 2008
This review is from: Swiss+Tech MPCSS Micro Plus 8 in 1 Keyring Tool (Misc.)
This is something people should be required to have. It has helped me out in so many situations that I never leave home without it. I've used it for everything from getting bottles open to cracking nuts. I know that sounds kind of dumb, but you can use it for almost anything.

I have had many pocket tools but this is the one that continues to stay in my pocket. It's light and has all of my most needed tools. I install and maintain computer networks, and I use it constantly to get into and out of servers, racks, cabinets and many other devices that I deal with daily.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very solid!!, January 7, 2008
This review is from: Swiss+Tech MPCSS Micro Plus 8 in 1 Keyring Tool (Misc.)
Has a good range of screw drivers, small and large, pliers are strong. Wire strippers present, not a strong point I was looking for. Have it on my key ring now. Would buy it again.

The only thing it lacks is a blade. You can probably chalk the absence of one to marketing because they have their Utili-Key...thingy. Anyway...It's pretty handy. You could probably get a tear going in that annoying tape on that package you're trying to open by using the point of one of the screw drivers, but if it ever came to ribbon or string you're gonna want to also have their Utili-Key on your keychain as well. I'd bet the two items combined would still be less bulky than the micro-leatherman. Together they probably cost the same though.
