Swiss+Tech represents a quantum leap in the art of micro-tool making. They're compact, easily transportable tools that combine craftsmanship and innovation to create a new category of patented consumer products--Key Ring Tools.

Includes nine useful tools in one

Folds up easily to attach to any keychain

Unlike all other multi-function tools, many Swiss+Tech tools have a patented, quick-release, integrated locking system that attaches to any key ring, thereby eliminating the need for an additional ring or belt holster. These innovative, high-quality, light-weight products fulfill a common need--having the tools you need when you need them. They make a great gift.

The Micro-Plus EX 9-in-1 Key Ring Tool is a lightweight, pocket-sized, key-ring tool kit that includes pliers, wire cutter, wire stripper, wire crimper, bottle opener, #1 flat screwdriver, #2 flat screwdriver, #1 Phillips screwdriver and #2 Phillips screwdriver.

The ANSI standard screwdrivers snap into position with ease and change tips in seconds. Open the pliers to use the wire cutter, wire stripper or wire crimper. Open the pliers completely to use the bottle opener.

Like all Swiss+Tech tools, a patented quick release mechanism securely locks the Micro-Plus EX onto a key ring. Solid stainless steel construction provides a lifetime of convenience, comfort and readiness.

What's not to love?...great tool and super cool...well made.
David Pyron
After repeated use, the handles that keep the tool folded become too loose, and make the pliers useless because it becomes floppy when unfolded.
ContrivanCe
This little pocket tool is awesome, but its a little too heavy for a key ring that already has a bunch of keys.

When I first got this tool I was thinking Swisstech finally changed the handle design of their tools to make it easier to use and even look more like a regular small pair of pliers. Looking like a pair of pliers is all it did. I have had other Swisstech tools before and they were better made. After a week of light usage the handle joints were completely loose. There is no friction to keep the tool open at all. In fact I can flip my wrist while holding one of the tool handles and the tool opens and closes back around. The big screw drivers seem to be holding into the handle ok, but the small flat tip is very loose and a stabbing hazard. I have stop tiring to use the tool all together because of this. Well I guess gone are the days one could look at the polished stainless finish on a Util-key and one could think that there are people out there that still spend their time on the small details of life.

There are some feature to like about the Swiss+Tech MICRO-PLUS, but at 2.9 0z. it is too heavy and bulky for my key-chain.

Pros:
- smaller screw drivers fit nicely within the larger ones (I like this design)
- reasonable looking crimper
- can orient pliers head at different angles to handle (but do not lock)

Cons:
- plier head & handles do not lock and can shift angle under torque
- short handles give little leverage
- handles aren't spring-load (you need to reopen them ever time)
- screw driver 'blades' do not lock
- heavy and big for key-chain

Edit: my original review is below, written in 2010. After a year or more the swivel joints for the handles have worn down and loosened entirely so the tool won't stay closed and won't stay on a keychain. This also affects the gripping action because the handles will slide sideways as you squeeze. Its only real function is as a mini-screwdriver set sitting in a drawer, but if i wanted that i'd get something else. Lowering my review to 2-stars, because it wants to be a keychain, and no longer acts as a keychain.

Original review:
My dad just gave me this and bought another one for himself. The picture doesn't show very well of how it actually attaches to your keys and works. I think the second image helps... hopefully they put up more. Here is a breakdown and scorecard:

1. The hole of the pliers is where your key ring goes. Then the handles fold over to make sure they don't come undone. +2
2. the only way you can use it is by taking it OFF of your keys. You have NO choice. maybe if a hole was attached so i could use the pliers without taking off my keys... -1

2. On each handle is a foldout screwdriver set. Size #1 and #2 of each a phillips-head(X cross shaped) and flat-head screwdrivers. +2

3. When you separate the plier handle grips you get access to the bottle opener, wire cutter, stripper, and crimper +2
i think on average per year i cut 2 wires, much more often i cut zip ties, this could be easier -1

All in all, a cool and pretty durable multitool. Also at the right price. My favorite is the bottle opener(WHAT GUY DOESN'T LOVE A BOTTLE OPENER) and the pliers! I gave it 4 stars because i think they could have replaced a screwdriver with a knife. but. i guess that doesn't make the product bad??

This is a great idea and it worked well... for a minute. One of the handles is floppy now so it will not stay on the key ring, which is the whole purposes of it. They have a lifetime guarantee and I called them about this problem. I was told to ship it to them at my cost with a note of what is wrong and they will replace it. Go figure, that would cost as much as buying a new one... I cut my losses. I would've given it only 1 star except that I did get to use it a few times and it was handy.

Not a bad item for Swiss Technology that is made in China. I handed them out to friends and family for Christmas.

It made from stainless steel and very tight fitting (for now anyway). I would not recommend hooking this to car keys though. They is a bit of weight to it and may be harmful to ignition locks.
People that have a lot of junk that hang from their key chains might know what I'm talking about as they may have had to replace ignition locks before.

Folded up it will fit in the watch pocket on jeans or in the glove box just to have for emergencies.

This is a nice little pocket tool, well made.
I have said all i need to say but the silly application has a minimum word count.

I got this specifically because it is the only multi-tool I could find without a knife (knife carrying laws in my home State are a wee bit harsh). It is a present for one of my staff for Xmas in July. I haven't used it and didn't take it out of its packet but I could tell it was very solidly constructed (perhaps I'm not the best one to rate this;)) it is small and a good weight and as I said: solid. With the price, it is terrific for a small gift. I bought two the second to give a colleague at the real Christmas and I'm wishing I got one for myself.
