Fondue is making a comeback, and having the right dishes and serving ware makes the whole experience more enjoyable. Having different dipping sauces is a part of the fun.

Eating fondue off a "regular" plate results in mixed sauces, oil or broth diluting things, and in general a mess.

The sections on this plate work admirably for segregating sauces and fondue items, and the un-sectioned half of the plate is plenty of room to hold your finished foods. The four sections are large and deep enough to hold plenty of your favorite dipping sauces, or selections of items to fondue.

The only drawback is storage. These are heavy, thick plates, and the backs of them are smooth, which means that the plates do not stack nicely for storage. It would have been nice for the sections of the places to fit into recesses in the back a little so they could store stacked instead of precariously balanced.

These plates would have been really nice if the finish were better quality. I purchased and returned two sets because I was not happy with the flaws in the finish. There were areas that had no glaze on them; the ceramic was visible through thin areas in the finish and there were lots of bubbles in the glaze. I expected better for the price.

Well, I guess I should have listened to the other reviews about these plates arriving broken... I ordered 2 boxes of these beautiful raclette plates in BLACK, and WOW, NOTHING WENT RIGHT! The 1st box that I received was a WHITE set (btw, the white is pretty enough, but I'm not interested in white), and 1 day later the 2nd box I received was a gorgeous Black Set that had... Drum Roll Please... BROKEN plates inside. What a let down! What decent manufacturer packages plates in a box with only ONE cardboard lining in between each plate? I've moved from one neighborhood to another just 10 miles away, and packaged my plates for transport more carefully than this! To Amazon's Customer Service goes due credit, they took very good care of me for both transactions, which is why I love being a Prime member. But what a shame people, these are really lovely, glossy plates, so can someone at Swissmar do something about the shoddy packaging? I would have given FIVE STARS for these plates if I could actually get what I ordered in the right color, and all in ONE PIECE! So, 1 star for not being able to receive what I ordered twice, but seriously, it could have been 5 stars for looks and nice, heavy weight. Really Too Bad, this is my very 1st negative feedback on Amazon, and I purchase daily..

We bought these to replace some very old plates that we had from Denmark that have since dwindled down to one plate. These plates are much heavier, but I like that. Although these plates are about the same size as our older ones, the compartments for the "sauces/spices" are much deeper and the section for the food is a bit larger. We bought eight plates and we have them staked on top of each other in the cabinet. We really love these new plates. We ordered two sets, but one came with a broken dish, we called and they sent a replacement set, and we returned the set. No problem.

This shipment was received without proper protective packaging and resulted in broken dishes. The package was not packed with bubblepack or other protective packaging on top of and on the bottom of the inner box, so the plates arrived broken.Swissmar Set of 4 Fondue/Raclette Plates, White

These plates were in the packaging you would get it in from the store. They came in the original box with foam surroundings. Not a single scratch and quick shipment.

The fondue plates work very well. The packaging was sufficient when they arrived. None were broken. The plates are on the heavy side, but not too heavy. They are good size plate for good portion of dips, but not too large and stack very easily for storage. Also are dishwasher safe.

We love these fondue plates! They look lovely and separate our dippers :) We use them all the time!

you can get them all to arrive in one piece. Tried 4 times and only one set arrived unbroken. I love the plates for fondue...the separate compartments for dipping sauces were perfect.

I actually ordered these plates as part of a birthday gift for my daughter. Imagine my disappointment when she called and said that the plates were broken. You reshipped and again she called and said they were broken. She said you would be giving me a credit which I have not seen, but she called later and said you had given her a credit which was good. I don't think I will be ordering any other products from you. I will however keep buying and downloading books for my reader. I just was really upset that because of shoddy packing, part of the gift I was sending my daughter she did not getTrudeau Round 10 Inch Fondue Plates, Set of 4 . Had no intention of even giving this any stars, just could nit get it to go away.
