Good choice for a bar spoon,

I spent way too much time shopping for something as simple as a bar spoon, but now I'm glad I did. The length is great for stirring drinks in highball glasses and shakers. The serration on the end of the spoon has come in handy for quick straining and the muddler is a nice addition where a lot of other spoons had nothing. I don't use the muddler for making mojitos or juleps or any drink that requires a lot of muddling, but I will use it for making an old-fashioned or a light muddle job. I highly recommend this spoon if you, too, are putting way too much thought into which bar spoon you're going to buy.

This may be of reasonable or even good quality in some distant (from me) land called Barspoon World but on my planet it's cheap junk. The twist is nice, but for 15 dollars as of late 2011, I foolishly expect more than the bowl of the spoon welded to the handle. As with all other spoons on my flatware world, I expect no ugly, bacteria-growing welds on the business end of my utensil. Really should have guessed this from the relatively sharp line between the handle and the bowl, but when I bought it the picture wasn't exactly high resolution. In an inverse of you-get-what-you-pay-for, if you assume a fifteen dollar spoon must have decent quality, you may be disappointed. In short, this may or may not be good as a cocktail spoon, but it's way lower quality than even the cheapest flatware.

This spoon is not flimsy and has a nice appearance. I however found this spoon cheaper on bartender supply websites. This is my fault for not shopping around first.

Great Mixing Spoon for Drinks. One end is great for Muddling, I don't know about "breaking ice" with it? All in all exactly what i was looking for at a good price.

Muddler is a little hard to use, but all in all it is a great spoon.
