I had a Fondue set for many years that I really enjoyed. However, I found it difficult to find the gel fuel; only the ready-to-use fuel in cans was available. (Also, fondue sort of fell out of favor for entertaining.) Fondue is BACK so after lots of checking, I found the Swiss Fire Gel on Amazon. It worked very well, especially clean burning. Only downside, it seemed to burn out (capacity) quicker for the same amount of fuel I used previously.Swiss Fire Gel Fondue Fuel - Gel

Used this stuff in my new fondue pot for the first time during the New Year holidays. It is a gel that soaks into a fuel cell for the fondue pot. It works great and I have no complaints. I noticed no smell, but it did remind me of Napalm. Enjoy, my friends.

Looked high and low to find the gel fuel recommended in the instructions for my Swiss-made fondue pot. Finally found this, which must be the stuff. Spendy, though.
Next time, open a can of Sterno and spoon a few tablespoonsful of the gel into the burner container. You can get Sterno anywhere, and it works just fine. |
