Dyson DC14 and DC07 Switch Assembly Vacuum cleaner replacement part / spare

You will need torx head bits to take out a screw and an observant eye to know where to free things up to remove the cover plate and put slack in the power cord.

No solder required for my install. Seems to work just fine.

Our ~4 year old Dyson decided to stop working (would not stay on when on/off button released). Purchased a new switch, installed it in 5 minutes and everything is fine. Saved myself a $100 repair bill, but then again - I've never had a vacuum cleaner switch fail before!

I bought this switch cuz my vacuum cleaner would stay powered ON. Very super easy to replace the switch and way cheaper than buying through Dyson. In fact you can't even buy this through Dyson you have to buy through a dealer and pay them to do it. Saved me at least a hundred and some dollars!

I was having problems like many with my Dyson On & Off Switch. Many times I would push it , it would not stay on and I would have to push it numerous times to keep it running until I had to keep it pressed. Thinking like most I thought it was the switch so I opened it up and checked the switch out with my finger several times. I also noticed its set in between two small fingers. I did not notice how it was sitting when I opened it but when I tried the switch it worked each time using my finger, so after seeing how it sits in place I thought it may have slipped between the two fingers making the top of the switch lower causing it to malfunction as it was doing. I set it back on top of the two fingers, put it back together and its been working fine. My guess is most people are replacing this switch and not testing it and by doing this, only repositioning the new switch back on top of the two small fingers that hold it, and of course it works. I see this really being a factory defect from Dyson. The way this is made, it very easy for the switch to get pushed down out of position in between the two arms which hold it in place. The button on the switch its self only moves a tiny bit so its easy for it to not work if not in the proper place. I hope Dyson has fixed this issue on the newer models because I am sure most of the switches being replaced are not defective. Good Luck!

The switch worked perfectly. It was was easy to install with directions available on a number of different web sites.

Fit perfectly in my DC07. Looks to be well made. Worth every penny assuming it holds up as long as the original did (6+ years).

Vaccuum broke down on Saturday morning...Wife had rough on her equipment. I ordered this switch that day, the seller got it to me by Monday using standard(free) shipping. Put machine back together and all is well in the household. Small part, big deal. Thank you.

This replacement switch works perfectly. I used this on my DC14 vacuum and immediately the power switch returned to normal operation. The original problem was that the power switch would not stay down and the vacuum would power off once the button was released. I had tried cleaning the Dyson installed switch twice, but it was beyond repair this time. I recommend this if you ever run into a similar situation with your Dyson.
