Switch Craft is a book fully stuffed with the most amazing ideas when it comes to add a little e-textile magic to common objects. Nothing is save, skirts, bracelets, charms cushions and bags, gloves and hoodies, soft toys and even toys for dogs and cats.

Everything gets some magical e-textile dust sewn into it giving those objects a new facet.

The book is for people who like to make stuff but there is no need to be either very experienced in sewing nor in electronics. The simple to follow step-by-step instructions help to build the examples or tweak them for own ideas. It contains sections that explain the basics of sewing and electronic to make sure even very occasional crafters will have no problem to make bags, skirts, hoodies, gloves 'interactive'.

I got this book as a gift and I love it! What makes SwitchCraft stand out from the rest of the other techno-craft books that I own, is that this book really caters to beginners. Everything is very easy to understand, the illustrations and pictures are very clear and keeps my attention. I like modern style of the projects in the book, very young and fresh...nothing like the typical outdated knitting and popsicle stick type craft projects you usually get these types of books. The spiral bound is great for when you're working. All in all, if you're looking to make cool stuff that isn't going to break your bank account or confuse you to no end, I highly recommend this book!

Switch Craft is an amazing book with lots of step-by-step projects. Each project is rated in sewing difficulty and electronics difficulty. The electronics are carefully explained and range from easy to difficult. If you want to add light or sound to a pillow, skirt, quilt, etc. , this is the book for you!

I ordered this book because it had directions for constructing a laptop case that detects Wifi signals. It has many interesting patterns and the directions are very clear. Most of the patterns are not things I will ever make but it is fun to pull it out for inspiration sometimes. Unfortunately I will have to special order my materials as there don't seem to be any places I can easily buy them in my area.

I bought Switchcraft for my cousin as a Christmas present. She's really into crafts and I saw this book and thought it would be the best gift for her. She loved it and what I saw from the book looked really interesting. She even made me a pair of gloves from the book, which allow me to use my iPhone while wearing them. I love the gloves and use them everyday. She's made a lot of projects out of the book and she says she really enjoys working with LEDs and EL wire.
