2 "best best best friends" switch places, by magic.
And not too soon for depressed Nicole. Who knew her life would get even worse, as her "friend" goes on a murderous rampage ...all while looking like Nicole. Expect surprises and twists in this very spooky novel by horror writer, Stine.

This book was absolutely fabulous . It was really scary and unbelievable. The story mainly revolves around Nicole who is troubled with the way her life is going and decides to solve matters by switching bodies with her best friend , but things don't exactly turn out the way she had planned as Nicole soon discovers that her friend is using her body to get away after comitting murders. The end is really surprising and the whole story seems unbelievable after you read the end . This book stayed on my mind for a long time. A MUST READ.

when I started reading this book, I thought it was going to be another one of those books that aren't scary, even though they tell you they're scary, and might be a bit scary, but it's not as scary as something scarier, but was I wrong! there was suspence around every corner for Nicole, the main character, and for me! I would definatly recomend this book to, well, anyone! even if you don't like reading this book will open you into new adventures!

How would you feel if your friend asked you to switch bodies, and the way she knew how was from stories that her grandpa told her? Well, in this case the story was true. How do you say it was. Find out as you read about it. My opinion about this book is that it's a mystery at first, then it comes together in the end. R.L. Stine writes scary books. The book is Switched. I thought this because as you read closer and closer to the murder, the author stops and makes a picture in your mind. R.L. Stine makes great details. For example as the murderer kills, he chops their heads off and R.L. Stine describes how the body just lies there still with a pool of blood swirling around. Since someone killed them he gives you hints but later in the story he mixes them around so then you have to think and think hard. The book is unbelievable. As I told you in the beginning how they switched, did you believe it or not? Could a story that your grandfather told you be true in real life? While I asked question I in my head over and over, I knew that in this world in this time it could happen if it included witch craft or some kind of magic. I think Switched is exciting because in the story at the end of each chapter, it stops at really good part. Here is an a view from the book well, she turns around and sees someone on the floor with blood. If you stop at a place like that I wouldn't want to stop reading. So you have to go on to the next chapter to find out what happens. Like who killed her or what happened. I think this story is also very confusing at times. When they switch in different bodies, then people would call them by whose body they're in, but for some odd reason they called them by their real name. When this happens you have to think about it because now your thinking is she dreaming or is she just crazy? This is where it gets exciting. Switched is a scary and unbelievable book. As you read its also exciting and confusing. If you read it it will teach you about things in life. Like if your best friend dies and you think its your fault. Well, don't because it wasn't. You just have to understand that it was her time to go. Things don't just happen for no reason. If it does happen then there is a good reason. Read this book you'll enjoy it. When I read books I wonder if it could happen and some can. As I read R.L. Stine's books gives me some advice and makes my imagination brighter and deeper. Books are absolutely wonderful if you find the right one. So you go to your libraries and find R.L Sine's books and you'll find the one you need.

*Spoilers*
OK so I was reading this book and it was just weird at first and I didn't like the beginning at all. I definitely thought it was confusing after Lucy (in Nicole's body) stopped showing up and there was just a bunch of strange murders. I began to think that somehow Lucy got Nicole to hallucinate the entire thing...the ending was definitely surprising but at the same time, I felt like it wasn't completely shocking because it had been gradually hinted throughout the book. The fact that they all called her nicole while she was the only one who thought she was Lucy, and the unexplained deaths that no one else acknowledged except Nicole..I knew halfway through the book that most of it had to be hallucinations. Still, very chilling and pretty sad. The ending made an impact on me. The thing is, this book didn't really make me scared..the thought of it was more bizarre and weird than scary.

One of the best Fear Street books!,

Synopsis: Nicole Darwin feels her life is too boring. Her parents don't do anything interesting; she does not like her classes, and her boyfriend David just broke up with her without an explanation. She just wants to escape from being herself for a while, and gets the perfect chance when she runs into her best friend Lucy. Coincidentally, Lucy tells her that they should switch bodies. Nicole is interested in the idea and follows Lucy deep into the Fear Street woods. Lucy takes her to a "Changing Wall" that her grandfather told her about. If two people sat on the wall together and jumped off, they would be able to switch bodies with one another. Nicole and Lucy decide to try it and soon find themselves in each other's bodies.
Initially, Nicole is thrilled because she can live Lucy's life, with her parents, and Lucy's boyfriend Kent, whom Nicole has had a secret crush on. They part ways and Nicole realizes that she was so eager to switch places that she never found out what Lucy's reasons were for switching bodies. She goes to Lucy's house, but is horrified to find Lucy's parents, murdered! She finds a note in Lucy's bedroom confessing to murdering her parents. Nicole realizes that Lucy switched bodies with her to get away with murder and live Nicole's life. The story follows as Nicole tries to find Lucy and switch bodies back with her. It is very hard for Nicole, because she feels that Lucy is murdering more people, and also finds herself being followed by the police. Can Nicole get Lucy in time before she is wrongfully accused? Review: When I first started reading this book, I couldn't believe how farfetched the story sounded. Two girls switching bodies while sitting on a wall in the middle of the woods? I didn't have any hopes or expectations and thought this was going to be a ridiculous Fear Street book. But I still gave it a second chance and kept reading, and I am glad I did. After Nicole switches bodies with Lucy, the book became so suspenseful that it was hard to put down. R. L. Stine adds so many twists to the plot that I couldn't put the book down even if I wanted to. Some might argue that the ending was disappointing, but I thought it was a very suitable ending that provided an explanation to all the incidents in the book. Another reason why I enjoyed this book was because it was so different from other Fear Street books. True, I thought the first two or three chapters were boring, but this isn't a regular fear street book which involves ghosts, or psychotic boyfriends/girlfriends plotting revenge. It is also fast paced as we travel with Nicole in her search for Lucy. Some parts of the story were very explicit with gory details, but I thought this added well to the horror of the story. I think this is by far the best Fear Street book I have read lately, and would definitely put it in my top three Fear Street book list.

switching lives,

Switched is another great Fear Street novel.
2 best friends, Nicole and Lucy, switch bodies by using magic. Nicole thinks Lucy has a great life, but she soon finds out that her friend has some issues when she uses Nicole's body to commit murder. Nicole flees as it seems that several people are conspiring against her. The ending is swell, as it usually is with R L Stine. Revealing more would be too much. Recommended. |
